धर्म एवं दर्शन की स्थिति के साथ राजनैतिक एवं सामाजिक परिस्थितियों की भी चर्चा की गयी है। द्वितीय अध्याय में उक्त शताब्दी के प्रमुख दार्शनिक विचारधाराओं पर प्रकाश डाला गया है साथ-साथ शैव, सांख्य एवं वैशेषिक दर्शन की विचारधारा को भी समाहित किया है।
तृतीय अध्याय जैन काव्यों में उपलब्ध वैदिक दर्शन एवं चतुर्थ अध्याय में बौद्धदर्शन के सिद्धान्तों एवं धार्मिक जीवन पर प्रकाश डाला गया है। पांचवें अध्याय में जैन दर्शन के जीव, अजीव, धर्म, अधर्म, आकाश और काल की व्याख्या के साथसाथ जैन दर्शन की नीतिशास्त्रीय मीमांसा की गयी है।
__ वस्तुत: यह पुस्तक सचमुच में शोधार्थियों के लिए अधिक उपयोगी है। इस पुस्तक में लेखक ने नये तथ्यों की जानकारी प्रस्तुत की है। जैन दर्शन एवं धर्म में शोध कार्य के लिए लेखक ने कुछ जगह ऐसे प्रश्नों की चर्चा की है जिससे प्रतीत होता है कि अभी भी दसवीं शताब्दी से सम्बन्धित कुछ और कार्य किये जा सकते हैं।

Dr. Arvind Sharma's 'Jaina Perspective on the Philosophy of Religion' is a critical Monograph on Philosophy of Religion. In this book, Dr. Sharma has very methodically explained the main features of philosophy of religions i.e, the concept of God and its relation with sufferings of human beings, faith and knowledge, epistemology and ontology, problem of religious pluralism as well as Human Destiny in Western and Indic perspective.
Dr. Sharma has discussed all the points not mere theologically particularly in the case of God but apologetically which philosophically defences the religious beliefs.
Dr. Sharma's approach to the problems is lucid and with a new angle of vision. This book will definitely open a new horizon of thought against the superstitional beliefs. Dr. Sharma deserves to be thanked for his contribution made.
