Prisms
According to the Digambara cosmography, the Lower World has the form of a cane-seat (vettāsaņa) or of a trapezoidal prism, and the Upper World (including the Middle World) has the form of a drum (muiñga) or of a hexagonal prism. (See Fig. 2, where a = t= h = 7 rajjus, b = c = 1 rajju, m = 5 rajjus.) The Lower World measures 4 x 72 cubic rajjus and the Upper World 3 x 72 cubic rajjus, the total being 73 cubic rajjus.
