(10) गृहीतं येनासी: परिभवभयान्नोचितमपि

This reading is accepted by all editions of the Venī, but N. S. Edn. (p. 78) has also mentioned the other reading - नोचितमिति in the ft. note. See - Chau. edn. (p. 118), Poona edn. (p. 37), Madras edn. (p. 82), Gaj. edn. (p. 71) & Des. edn. (p. 77) The different commentaries on the K. P. have also accepted नोचितमपि. See - Jha. edn. (p. 386), प्र. & उ. edn. (p. 332, R. P. edn. (p. 404), प्रयाग edn. (p. 272), सा. दी. edn. p. II (p. 90), सा. चू. & सं. प्र. edn. (p. 96), विवेक edn. p. II (p. 230), विस्ता. edn. p. II (p. 78), संकेत (मा.) edn. (p. 120) and संकेत (सो.) edn. p. II (p. 156) But उद्योत? (p. 332) has preferred नोज्झितमपि. सुधा. edn. (p. 420) follows in giving this reading. It also refers नोचितमपीति in the commentary - न चोचितमपीति क्वचित्पाठः सुगमः । (p. 421) With reference to नोज्झितमपि, Jha edn. (p. 386) reads'नोज्झितमपि' इति पाठे येन पित्रा त्वं गृहीतं स्ववृत्तिविरोधेऽपि स्वीकृतम् आसी: परिभवभयात् शस्त्रधारिभ्यस्तिरस्कारस्तद्भयात् नोज्झितं न कदाचित्त्यक्तमपीत्यन्वयः ।
अभूत् - All editions of the Veni have अभूत्, but N. S. edn. (p. 78) has noted आसीत् for अभूत् in the ft. note. The different commentaries on the K. P. have अभूत्, while सा. चू. & सं. प्र. edn. p. II (p. 96) and संकेत (सो.) edin. p. II (p. 156) have अभूत् with आसीत् in the ft. note. (p. I, p. 13) तेन - All editions of the Venī and those of the K. P. have 44. But chau. edn. of Ven (p. 118) has येन for तेन. The commentator mentions तेन. K. P. संकेत (मा.) edn (p. 120) has also येन for तेन.
