Whether we look at the verse from the point of view of poetry, aesthetics, robust logic all would agree that Hemacandra preserves the gathx in its correct form.
(2) Anubbayadvaram nigedha-Vişayam yatha"atta taba ramanljja" etc.
(p. 6) This gatha does not present much difficulty It may, with alaght changes, be rewritten as follows,
अत्ता तह रमणिज्ज अम्हं गामस्स मंडणमभूदं । लअतिलवाडिसरिच्छ सिसिरेण कर्म मिसिणिखंड ||-GS I 8 मातः (अथवा श्वश्रु) तथा रमणीयमस्माक ग्रामस्य मण्डनभूतम् । खूनतिलवाटीसदृशं शिशिरेण कृतं बिसिनीषण्डमm
(3) Tatra vidhinisedha-dvarakam vidhivaşayam yatha"pi adai damsana" eto
(p.6) This gatbx, with slight changes, corrections, etc. is thus restored :
णिअदापदंसणुक्खित्त पहिय अण्णेण वच्छसु पहेण । गहवइधूआ दुल्लंघवाउरा इह हअग्गामे ॥ [निजदयितादर्शनोरिक्षप्त पथिकान्येन वन पथा । गृहपतिदुहिता दुर्लध्यवागुररेह हतप्रामे ॥]
(4) Vidhi-nlşedha--dvaram Dişedha-Vişayam yathaMUccina supadia kusumam", etc.
(p. 6) This gatha may be rewritten, with minor changes, thus :
उरिचणसु पडिअकुसुमं मा धुण सेहालिआ(?) हलिअ-सुण्हे । अह दे विसमविरावो ससुरेण सुभो वलअसहो ॥ -DHV. p. 283 विच्चिनुष्य पतितकुसुमं मा धुनोहि शेफालिका हालिकस्नुषे ।
अथ ते विषमविरावः श्वशुरेण श्रुतो वलयशन्दः ॥] Thg quarter is differently read in Hemacandra's KAS (p.55),
एस अवसाणविरसो (Sk • एषोऽवसानविरस:) The present reading विसमविरावो does not agree, In sense, with वलअसहो. The gloss in Locana (p. 284) preaumes the reading विसमविवाभो (Sk विषमविपाक:) which perfectly agrees with वलअसहो.
(5) Kvacidasraya-saundaryad dhatte sobhamasadhvapi...yatha ____ "Malinavasananakaave" etc.
