cognitive phenomena were penetrating and his analysis of epistemological questions were very subtle. What is important to realise is that Akalanka - as any genuine philosopher and ingenious thinker - was a part not only of a his own doctrinal tradition, but also, to the same degree, of Indian philosophical heritage which included also Buddhist thought.
