३८. प्रश्न : मरण किन-किन जीवों का नहीं होता है ? उत्तर : मिश्रगुणस्थान वाले, निर्वृत्यपर्याप्त अवस्था को धारण
करने वाले मिश्रकाययोगी, क्षपक श्रेणी सम्बन्धी आठवें, नौवें, दसवें एवं बारहवें गुणस्थान वाले, उपशमश्रेणी चढ़ते हुए अपूर्वकरण गुणस्थान के पहले भाग वाले (जब तक निद्रा और प्रचला की बन्ध - व्युच्छित्ति नहीं होती है), प्रथमोपशम सम्यक्त्व वाले, तेरहवें गुणस्थान वाले और सातवें नरक के द्वितीय, तृतीय और चतुर्थ गुणस्थान वाले जीव मरण को प्राप्त नहीं होते हैं। अनन्तानुबन्धी का विसंयोजन करके मिथ्यात्व को प्राप्त होने वाले जीव अन्तर्मुहूर्त तक मरण को प्राप्त नहीं होते हैं। क्षायिक सम्यग्दर्शन की प्राप्ति के सम्मुख जीव जब तक मिथ्यात्व, सम्यग्मिथ्यात्व और अनन्तानुबन्धी चतुष्क का क्षय नहीं कर देते हैं अर्थात् जब तक कृतकृत्यता रहती है तब तक मरण नहीं करते हैं। कृतकृत्यता समाप्त
