Saptatikaprakarana
There are three alternatives with respect to the duration of the nine prakritikas bandhasthana: anadi-ananta, anadi-santa, and sadi-santa. The anadi-ananta alternative is found in the abhavyas, because the nine prakritikas bandhasthana of the abhavyas are never severed. The anadi-santa alternative is found in the bhavyas, because the nine prakritikas bandhasthana of the bhavyas are severed in the course of time. The sadi-santa alternative is found in the jivas who have fallen from samyaktva and attained mithyatva. The minimum duration of this sadi-santa alternative is antarmuhurta, and the maximum duration is deshonaparsva pudgala paravarta.
The minimum duration of the six prakritikas bandhasthana is antarmuhurta, and the maximum duration is one hundred and thirty-two sagaras. This is understood as follows: the jiva who attains samyaktva along with complete samyama and within antarmuhurta ascends to the upasama or ksapaka sreni and completes the first part of the apurvakarana, and then starts binding four prakritikas, the minimum duration of its six prakritikas bandhasthana is antarmuhurta. Or the jiva who remains in upasama samyagdrsti for a short time and then falls back to mithyatva, even its minimum duration of six prakritikas bandhasthana is antarmuhurta.
