होने से यहाँ ८६ प्रकृतिक सत्तास्थान नहीं कहा है। मनुष्यगतिप्रायोग्य २६ प्रकृतियों का बन्ध करने वाले नारकों के पूर्वोक्त पांचों उदयस्थान और प्रत्येक उदयस्थान में ६२, ८६ और प्रकृतिक, ये तीन-तीन सत्तास्थान होते है। तीर्थंकर प्रकृति की सत्तावाला मनुष्य नरक में उत्पन्न होकर जब तक मिथ्यादृष्टि रहता है उसकी अपेक्षा तब तक उसके तीर्थंकर के बिना २६ प्रकृतियों का बन्ध होने से २६ प्रकृतिक बन्धस्थान में प्रकृति का सत्तास्थान बन
जाता है ।

नरकगति में ३० प्रकृतिक बन्धस्थान दो प्रकार से प्राप्त होता है - एक उद्योतनाम सहित और दूसरा तीर्थंकर प्रकृति सहित जिसके उद्योत सहित ३० प्रकृतिक बन्धस्थान होता है उसके उदयस्थान तो पूर्वोक्त पांचों ही होते हैं किंतु सत्तास्थान प्रत्येक उदयस्थान में दो-दो होते हैं-६२ और प्रकृतिक तथा जिसके तीर्थंकर सहित ३० प्रकृतिक बन्धस्थान होता है, उसके पाँचों उदयस्थानों में से प्रत्येक उदयस्थान में प्रकृतिक एक-एक सत्तास्थान ही होता है ।
इस प्रकार नरकगति में सब बन्धस्थान और उदयस्थानों की अपेक्षा ४० सत्तास्थान होते हैं, जिनका विवरण निम्न प्रकार है
