प्रकृतिक बंध के संकमकाल के समय दो प्रकृतिक उदयस्थान में बारह भंग बतलाये थे, उनको सम्मिलित करके यह उदयस्थानों की संख्या और पदसंख्या बताई है। अर्थात् उदयस्थानों में से मतान्तर वाले बारह भंग कम कर दिये जायें तो ६८३ उदयविकल्प होते हैं और द्वि-प्रकृतिक उदयस्थान के बारह बारह भंग कम कर दिये जायें तो पदों की कुल संख्या ६६४७ होती है। विशेष स्पष्टीकरण आगे की गाथा में किया जा रहा है। अब बारह भंगों को छोड़कर उदयस्थानों की संख्या और पदसंख्या का निर्देश करते हैं।

शमा-नवतेसीयसहि-नौ सो तिरासी, उदयविएप्पैहिउदयविकल्पों से. मोहिया-मोहित हुए, जोवा-जीब, अवतरिसीयाला-उनहत्तर सौ संतालीस, पविवसहि-पदों के समूह, विलेया-जानना चाहिये ।
