बालों को छोड़ अभ्य सब जीव अविरत हैं, जिनमें अनन्तानन्त वनस्पतिकायिक जीवों का समावेश है। इसी अभिप्राय से अधिरत जीव देशविरति वालों की अपेक्षा अनन्तगुण माने गये हैं ।
देखों, नारको तथा कुछ मनुष्य तिर्यञ्चों को हो अवधिदर्शन होता है । इसी से अन्य वर्शन वालों की अपेक्षा अवधिदर्शनी अल्प है । सूर्यर्शन, चतुरिप्रिय, असंशि-पञ्चेन्द्रिय और संज्ञि-पचेत्रिय, इन तौमों प्रकार के जोवों में होता है। इसलिये चक्षुर्दर्शन वाले अवधिवर्शनियों की अपेक्षा असंख्यातगुण कहे गये हैं । सिद्ध अनन्त हैं और वे सभी केवलदर्शनी हैं, सी से उनकी संख्या चक्षुर्दर्शनियों की संख्या से अनन्तगुण है । अचशुदर्शन समी संसारी जीवों में होता है, जिनमें अकेले वनस्पतिकायिक जीव ही अनन्तानन्त है । इसी कारण अचक्षुर्दर्शन को केवलवर्शनियों से अनन्तगुण कहा है।

पछाणविलेसा, थोवा दो संख गंत दो अहिया । अभवियर थोवणंता, सासण थायोवसम संखा ||४३|| पवचानुपूर्व्या लेश्याः स्तोका द्वे संख्ये अनन्ता अधिके । अमध्येतराः स्वोकानन्ताः, सासादना म्तोका उपशमाः संख्याः ॥४३॥
अर्थ - लेश्याओं का अल्पबहुत्व पचानुपूर्वी से पीछे की ओर से—जानना चाहिये । जैसे:-- शुल्कलेश्यावाले, अन्य सब लेश्यावालों से अल्प हैं । पालेश्याषाले शुल्कलेवयावालों से संख्यातगुण हैं। तेजोलेश्या वाले पद्मश्यावालों से संख्यातगुण हैं। तेजोलेश्यावालों से कापोतले श्यावाले अनन्तगुण हैं। कापोतलेश्यावालों से नीललेश्यावाले विशेषाधिक है। कृष्णले श्यावाले, नीललेश्यावालों से भी विशेषाधिक हैं । अभव्य जीव, भव्य जीवों से अल्प हैं । भव्य जीव अभय जीवों की अपेक्षा अनन्तगण हैं ।

Those with *palaleshya* are infinitely more numerous than those with *shulkaleshya*. Those with *tejoleshya* are infinitely more numerous than those with *padmaleshya*. Those with *kapoteleshya* are infinitely more numerous than those with *tejoleshya*. Those with *neelaleshya* are significantly more numerous than those with *kapoteleshya*. Those with *krishna leshya* are even more numerous than those with *neelaleshya*. *Abhavy* beings are less numerous than *bhavy* beings. *Bhavy* beings are infinitely more numerous than *abhavy* beings.
