स्तुति न लेकर एक सांकेतिक अर्थ किया है—किसी विषय के समस्त अंगों का विस्तार या संक्षेप से वर्णन करने वाला शास्त्र । ___ इस प्रकार विषय और नामकरण में समानता होने पर भी नामार्थ में जो भेद पाया जाता है, वह सम्प्रदायभेद तथा ग्रन्थरचना सम्बन्धी देशकाल के भेद का परिणाम जान पड़ता है।
प्राक्कथन के रूप में कुछ बातों का संकेत किया गया है। पाठक गण इन विचारों के आधार पर ग्रन्थ का अध्ययन करते हुए कर्म साहित्य के अन्य-अन्य ग्रन्थों का अवलोकन करेंगे तो उन्हें एक विशेष आनन्द की अनुभूति होगी।
