सातवें आदि गुणस्थानों में वेदनीय कर्म की उदीरणा नहीं होती, इससे उन गुणस्थानों में आहार संज्ञा को दिगम्बर साहित्य (गो० जीवकांड गा० १३८ ) में नहीं माना है । परन्तु उक्त गुणस्थानों में उक्त संज्ञा को मानने में कोई आपत्ति नहीं जान पड़ती है क्योंकि उन गुणस्थानों में असातावेदनीय के उदय आदि अन्य कारण सम्भव है ।

कर्मग्रन्थ में दूसरे गुणस्थान में तीर्थंकरनामकर्म के सिवाय १४७ प्रकृतियों की सता मानी है । परन्तु दिगम्बर ग्रन्थ (गो० कर्मकांड में आहारकद्विक और तीर्थंकरनामकर्म इन तीन प्रकृतियों के सिवाय १४५ प्रकृतियों की सत्ता मानी है। इसी प्रकार गो० कर्मकांड गा० ३३३-३३६ के मतानुसार पाँचवें गुणस्थान में वर्तमान जीव को नरका की सत्ता नहीं होती और छठे व सत्रायें गुजरथान में राहु तिर्यंचायु इन दो की सत्ता नहीं होती। अतः उस ग्रन्थ के अनुसार पाँचवे गुणस्थान में १४७ की और छठे, सातवें गुणस्थान में १४६ की सत्ता मानी है किन्तु कर्मग्रन्थ के अनुसार पाँचवें गुणस्थान में नरकायु की और छठे, सातवे गुणस्थान में नरकाय, तिर्यंचायु की सत्ता भी हो सकती है ।

In the seventh and earlier Gunasthanas, the Vedaniya Karma does not arise, therefore, in these Gunasthanas, the Ahar Sanjna is not considered in the Digambar literature (Go. Jeevakanda Ga. 138).
