टुकड़े कर देता है | वैसे ही आत्मा की शक्ति अनन्त है। जब तक उसे अपनी विराट चेतना-शक्ति का भान नहीं होता, तब तक वह कर्मो को अपने से बलवान समझकर उनके अधीन सी रहती है और ज्ञान होते ही उनसे मुक्त होने का प्रयत्न कर शुद्ध, बुद्ध और सिद्ध अवस्था प्राप्त कर लेती है । यही आध्यात्मिक सिद्धान्त है ।

- अध्यात्मशास्त्र का उद्देश्य आत्मा सम्बन्धी विषयों का विचार करना है । अतएव उसको आत्मा के पारमार्थिक स्वरूप का निरूपण करने के पहले उसके व्यावहारिक स्वरूप का भी कथन करना पड़ता है । यदि ऐसा न किया जाय तो यह प्रश्न सहज ही मन में उठता है कि मनुष्य, पशु-पक्षी, सुख-दुखी आदि आत्मा की दृश्यमान अवस्थाओं का स्वरूप ठीक-ठीक जान बिना उसके बाद का स्वरूप जानने की योग्यता, दृष्टि कैसे प्राप्त हो सकती है ? इसके सिवाय यह भी प्रश्न होता है कि दृश्यमान वर्तमान अवस्थाएँ ही आत्मा का स्वभाव क्यों नहीं हैं ? इसलिए अध्यात्मशास्त्र के लिए आवश्यक है कि वह पहले आत्मा के दृश्यमान स्वरूप की उत्पत्ति दिखाकर आगे बढ़े। यह काम कर्मशास्त्र ने किया है। वह दृश्यमान सत्र अवस्थाओं को कर्मजन्य बतलाकर उससे आत्मा के स्वभाव की पृथकता की सूचना करता है । इस दृष्टि के कर्मशास्त्र अध्यात्मशास्त्र का ही एक अंग है |
अध्यात्मशास्त्र का उद्देश्य यदि आत्मा के शुद्ध स्वरूप का वर्णन करना ही माना जाय, तब भी कर्मशास्त्र को उसका प्रथम सोपान मानना ही पड़ता है । इसका कारण यह है कि जब तक अनुभव में आने वाली वर्तमान अवस्थाओं के साथ आत्मा के सम्बन्ध का स्पष्टीकरण न हो, तब तक दृष्टि आगे कैसे बढ़ सकती है ? जब यह ज्ञात हो जाता है कि ऊपर के ( वर्तमान के ) सब रूप मायिक या वैभाविक हैं, तब स्वयमेव जिज्ञासा होती है कि आत्मा का सच्चा स्वरूप क्या है ? उसी समय आत्मा के केवल शुद्ध स्वरूप का प्रतिपादन सार्थक होता है । परमात्मा के साथ आत्मा का सम्बन्ध दिखाना, यह भी अध्यात्मशास्त्र का विषय है । इस सम्बन्ध में उपनिषद, गीता आदि में जैसे विचार पावे जाते है, वैसे ही कर्मशास्त्र में भी । कर्मशास्त्र कहता है कि आत्मा हो परमात्मा - जीव

At that time, the presentation of the pure nature of the soul alone becomes meaningful.

To show the relationship of the soul with the Supreme Soul is also the subject of spiritual science. Just as thoughts are found in the Upanishads, Gita, etc. regarding this relationship, so also in karma science. Karma science says that the soul is the Supreme Soul - the living being.
