(५) शास्त्र - प्रामाण्य - अनेक पुरातन शास्त्र भी आत्मा के स्वतन्त्र अस्तित् का प्रतिपादन करते है । जिन शास्त्रकारों ने बड़ी शान्ति व गम्भीरता के साथ आत्मा के विषय में खोज की है, उनके शास्त्रगत अनुभव को यदि हम विना अनुभव किये चपलता से यों ही हम दें तो इसमें क्षुद्रता किसकी ? आजकल मी अनेक महात्मा ऐसे देखे जाते हैं कि जिन्होंने अपना जीवन पत्रित्रता पूर्वक आत्मा के विचार में ही बिताया। उनके शुद्ध अनुभव को यदि हम अपने भ्रान्त अनुभव के बल पर न मानें तो इसमें न्यूनता हमारी ही है । पुरातन शास्त्र और वर्तमान अनुभवी महात्मा निस्स्वार्थ भाव से आत्मा के अस्तित्व को बतला रहे हैं ।
( ६ ) आधुनिक वैज्ञानिकों की सम्मति – आजकल लोग प्रत्येक विषय का खुलासा करने के लिए बहुधा वैज्ञानिक विद्वानों का विचार जानना चाहते हैं । यह ठीक है कि अनेक पाश्चात्य भौतिक विज्ञानविशारद आत्मा को नहीं मानते पर उसके विषय में सन्दिग्ध है, परन्तु ऐसे भी अनेक धुरन्धर वैज्ञानिक हैं, जिन्होंने अपनी सारी आयु भौतिक चिन्तन की खोज में बिताई है, परन्तु उनकी दृष्टि भूतों से परे आत्मतत्त्व की ओर भी पहुंची। उनमें से सर आलीवर लॉज और लाई केलविन के नाम वैज्ञानिक संसार में प्रसिद्ध हैं । वे दोनों विद्वान चेतन तत्त्व को जड़ से जुड़ा मानने के पक्ष में हैं। उन्होंने जहादियों की युक्तियों का खण्डन बड़ी सावधानी से किया है। उनका मन्तव्य है कि चेतन के स्वतन्त्र अस्तित्व के सिवाय जीवधारियों के देह की विलक्षण रचना बन नहीं सकती । में अन्य भौतिकवादियों की तरह मस्तिष्क को ज्ञान की जड़ नहीं समझते, किन्तु उसे ज्ञान के आविर्भाव का साधन मात्र समझते हैं ।
संसार - प्रख्यात वैज्ञानिक डा० जगदीशचन्द्र बसु की खोज से यहाँ तक निश्चय हो गया है कि वनस्पतियों में भी स्मरणशक्ति विद्यमान है। उन्होंने अपने आविष्कारों से स्वतन्त्र आत्मतत्व मानने के लिए वैज्ञानिक संसार को विवश किया है।
(७) पुनर्जन्म – यहाँ अनेक ऐसे प्रश्न हैं, जिनका पूरा समाधान पुनर्जन्म माने बिना नहीं होता ।
