श्रुतज्ञान होता है। अतः अब मतिज्ञान के पश्चात् श्रुतज्ञान का वर्णन किया जाता है। श्रुतज्ञान के चौदह और बोस भेद :
अपाखर सन्ती सम्म साइ खलु सपज्जवसियं च । गमियं अंगपविलू स त्तवि एए सपडिवक्खा ॥६॥ पज्जय अक्खर पय संधाया पडिवत्ति तह य अणुओगो।
पाहुडपाहुड पाहुड वत्थू पुवा य स-समासा ॥७॥ गाथार्थ-अक्षर, संजी, सम्यक्, सादि, सपर्यवसित, गमिक और अंगप्रविष्ट तथा इन सात के साथ इनके प्रतिपक्षी अर्थवाले सात नामों को जोड़ने से श्रुतज्ञान के चौदह भेद हो जाते हैं। पयांय, अक्षर, पद, संघात, प्रतिपत्ति, अनुयोग, प्राभूतप्राभृत, प्राभूत, वस्तु एवं पूर्व ये दस तथा इन दसों में से प्रत्येक के साथ समास शब्द जोड़ देने से श्रुतज्ञान से बीस भेद होते हैं ।।६-७।
विशेषार्थ-मतिज्ञान के अनन्तर क्रमप्राप्त श्रुतज्ञान के गाथा ६ में चौदह भेदों एवं गाथा में बीस भेदों के नाम गिनाये हैं। उनमें से पहले चौदह भेदों का वर्णन करते हैं।
श्रुतज्ञान के चौदह भेद · श्रुतज्ञान के चौदह भेदों का कथन करने के लिए यद्यपि गाथा में सिर्फ सात नामों का उल्लेख है और शेष सात नामों को समझने के लिए कहा है कि उक्त नामों मे प्रतिपक्षी अर्थ रखने वाले सात नामों को और जोड़ लेना चाहिए। अतएव अक्षर आदि सात नामों के साथ उनके प्रतिपक्षी सात नाम जोड़ने से श्रुतज्ञान के निम्नलिखित पौदह भेद हो जाते हैं१. मईपुर्व जण सुझं न मई स्यपुश्विया ।
