अर्थ - उदीरणा का आश्रयकर आयुके बिना सातकर्मों की आबाधा आवलीमात्र है तथा परभवसम्बन्धी आयु की उदीरणा नहीं होती है।
विशेषार्थ - बन्ध होने के पश्चात् आयुबिना शेष कर्मों की उदीरणा आवलीकाल व्यतीत होने पर ही होती है। पर भवकी जो आयु बाँध ली है उसकी उदीरणा निश्चयकर नहीं होती। अर्थात् वर्तमान आयुकी तो उदीरणा हो सकती है, परन्तु बँधीहुई आगामी आयुकी नहीं। यहाँ ऐसा अर्थ नहीं लगाना चाहिए कि देव, नारकी, चरमशरीरी, भोगभूमिजके भुज्यमान आयु की उदीरणा नहीं होती। क्योंकि इन देव, नारकी, चरमशरीरी, भोगभूमिज के भी आयुकर्म की उदीरणा तो अवश्य होती है पर उतने मात्र से अकालमरण (कदलीघात) नहीं हो जाता। क्योंकि उदीरणा में किसी भी निषेक के असंख्यातवें भाग प्रमाण (असंख्यात लोक वाँ भाग या पल्योपम का असंख्यातवाँ भाग) परमाणु ही अपकर्षित होते हैं तथा उदयावली में दिए जाते हैं, पूरा का पूरा निषेक नहीं (धवल १५/४३) अत: मात्र उदीरणा होने से कहीं अकालमरण थोड़े ही होता है। जबकि अकालमरण (कदलीघात) में निषेक पूरे के पूरे समाप्त हो जाते हैं, नियतकाल में। अत: उदीरणा को अकालमरण (कदलीघात) मानना ठीक नहीं। जैसे नरकायु की उदीरणा सब नारकियों में होती है। विशेष इतना कि जिस नारक के नारकभव में आवली प्रमाण ही जीवन शेष है उसके उदीरणा नहीं होती। देव आयु आदि में भी ऐसे ही कहना चाहिए (धवला १५/ ५६-५७ तथा जयधवला १४/३४) इसी तरह भोग-भूमिजों में भी मनुष्य तिर्यंचायु की उदीरणा आवली कम तीन पल्य तक होती रहती है। मात्र अन्तिम आवली में मनुष्यायु तिर्यच आयु की उदीरणा नहीं होती। (धवल १५/६३, धवला १५/१२०, १२७, ५७, १७८ आदि तथा स.सि. पृ. ३४६ ज्ञानपीठ द्वितीय संस्करण) इसी तरह देव, चरम शरीरी में भी उदीरणा आयु कर्म की होती है, पर अकालमरण नहीं। गो,क. ४४१ में चारों आयु की उदीरणा बताई। उदीरणा का अर्थ अकालमरण नहीं है (जैनगजट २५.७.६६ ई. पृ. ९ ब्र. रतनचन्द मुख्तार का लेख)

विशेषार्थ - आयुकर्मबिना सातकर्मोकी जितनी स्थिति बँधती है उसमेंसे आबाधाकालको घटाकर शेषकालके जितने समय होवें उतने निषेकोंकी रचना होती है। आयुकर्मकी आबाधा पूर्वभवमें ही व्यतीत हो जाती है अतः आयुकर्ममें निषेकरचना अपनी स्थितिप्रमाण होती है।
