Meaning: The places of rise of Namakarm are Vigrahagati or Karmansharira, Mishrasharira, Sharirparyapti, Śvāsocchvāsaparyapti, and Bhāṣāparyapti. They have a fixed time period, i.e., they rise only in the time period in which they are due to rise. Thus, these five periods are fixed.
Special meaning: Where the Karmansharira is found, that is the Karmankaal, and until the Sharirparyapti is complete, that is the Sharirmishrakaal. And when the Sharirparyapti is complete, until the Śvāsocchvāsaparyapti is complete, that is the Sharirparyaptikaal. When the Śvāsocchvāsaparyapti is complete, until the Bhāṣāparyapti is complete, that is the Śvāsocchvāsaparyaptikaal, and when the Bhāṣāparyapti is complete, that is the Bhāṣāparyaptikaal for the entire lifespan. Thus, these five places of rise of Namakarm have fixed time periods. Here, in the verse, the mention of Vigrahagati and Karman is to include the Karmansharira of the Samudghātakaivalya as well.
Now, they describe the measure of these periods.
