अब नामकर्मके स्थानोंके आधारभूत ४१ जीवपदोंका दो गाथाओंमें कथन करते हैंरिया पुण्णा पण्हं, बादरसुहुमा तहेव पत्तेया । विलासणी सण्णी, मणुवा पुण्णा अपुण्णा य ।।५१९ ।।
सामण्णतित्थकेवलि, उहयसमुग्धादगा य आहारा । देवावि य पज्जत्ता, इदि जीवपदा हु इगिदाला || ५२० || जुम्मं ॥
अर्थ- सर्व नारकी जीव पर्याप्त ही हैं। पृथ्वी, आप, तेज, वायु और साधारणवनस्पतिकाय ये पाँचों ही बादर और सूक्ष्म भी हैं अतः ये १०, प्रत्येकवनस्पति, द्वीन्द्रिय, त्रीन्द्रिय, चतुरिन्द्रिय, असञ्जीसीपञ्चेन्द्रियतिर्यञ्च और मनुष्य ये १७ पर्याप्त और अपर्याप्त भी होते हैं अतः इनके ३४ भेद तथा सामान्यकेवली, तीर्थंकरकेवली एवं समुद्घात करनेवाले सामान्य और तीर्थकर केवली, आहारकशरीरी, ट्रेन ये ६ पर्याप ही होते हैं। प्रकार १-३४+६= ४९ भेद जीवोंके हैं। इसीकारण इनको 'जीवपद' कहते हैं। ये नामकर्मके बन्धस्थानोंकी विवक्षासे होते हैं अतः इन्हें कर्मपद भी कहते हैं।
अथानन्तर नामकर्मके बन्धस्थानोंका गुणस्थानोंमें कथन करते हैं
तेवीसं पणवीसं, छव्वीसं अट्टवीसमुगतीसं । तीसेकतीसमेवं, एक्को बंधी दुसेढिम्हि ।। ५२१ ।
