## Gommatasar Karmakanda-433
There are six karmas without sa-yoga-kevali guna-sthana, and two karmas, sattva and udya, in the a-yogi guna-sthana. Now, the special feature of the upashanta-kṣaya guna-sthana is called:
**ṇavari viseṣaṁ jāṇe, saṅkamam avi hodi saṁtamohammi. ... micchaśśa ya miśśaśśa ya seṣāṇam natthi saṅkamaṇaṁ ||443||**
**Meaning:** The special feature of the upashanta-kṣaya guna-sthana is that the saṅkamaṇa karma is also found in mithyātva and miśra-prakriti, meaning that their atoms transform into samyaktva-prakriti. The remaining six karmas are found in the other prakritis.
**Special Meaning:** For example, in the apūrva-karaṇa guna-sthana, there is a vyucchitti of the three karmas, upashama, nidhatti, and nikacita, but there is no vyucchitti in the anivṛtti-karaṇa and sūksma-sāmprāya guna-sthana. In the upashanta-kṣaya guna-sthana, there are seven karmas for mithyātva and samyag-mithyātva-prakriti, while the other prakritis have six karmas without saṅkamaṇa, upashanta, nidhatti, and nikacita. There is no vyucchitti in the kṣīṇa-kṣaya guna-sthana, and there is a vyucchitti of the four karmas, bandha, utkarṣaṇa, apankarṣaṇa, and udāraṇa, in the sa-yogi guna-sthana. In the a-yogi guna-sthana, there is a vyucchitti of the two karmas, sattva and udya. The rest of the statement is easy to understand.
**bandhukkaṭṭaṇa-karaṇaṁ, sagasagabandhoti hodi niyameṇa.
saṅkamaṇaṁ karaṇaṁ puṇa, sagasagajāḍīṇ bandhoti ||444||**
**Meaning:** When there is a bandha of a particular prakriti, then the bandha and utkarṣaṇa karmas occur. The saṅkamaṇa karma occurs at the time of bandha of the prakritis of its own kind.
**okkaṭṭaṇa-karaṇaṁ puṇa, ajogisattāṇ jogicarimautti.
khīṇaṁ suhumantāṇam, khayadesaṁ sāvalīyasamayoti ||445||**
**Meaning:** The apankarṣaṇa karma of the 85 sattva-rupa prakritis in the a-yogi guna-sthana lasts until the end of the sa-yogi guna-sthana. The apankarṣaṇa karma of the 16 prakritis that are vyucchinn from sattva in the kṣīṇa-kṣaya guna-sthana and the sūksma-lobha that is vyucchinn from sattva in the sūksma-sāmprāya guna-sthana, these 17 prakritis have an apankarṣaṇa karma that lasts until one avati less than the kṣaya-desa.
**Doubt:** What is kṣaya-desa?
