गोम्मटसार कर्मकाण्ड-३८९ नरकगति, नरकगत्यानुपूर्वी, आतप, उद्योत. स्थावर, सूक्ष्म, साधारण, स्त्यानगृद्धिआदि तीन निद्रा ये १६ तथा आगे अप्रत्याख्यानकषाय ४, प्रत्याख्यानकषाय ४ ये आठ, नपुंसकवेद, स्त्रीवेद, ६ (हास्यादि नोकषाय), पुरुषवेद, सज्वलन क्रोध, सज्वलनमान ये प्रकृतियाँ कम करने पर क्रमशः १२२-५५४११३-११२-१०६-१०५-१०४-१०३ प्रकृति रूप आठ स्थान हैं। इन आठ स्थानों की चार पंक्ति करना और प्रथम पंक्ति में कोई भी प्रकृति कम नहीं की, द्वितीय पंक्ति में तीर्थकर प्रकृति घटाई, तृतीय पंक्ति में आहारकचतुष्क घटाया और चतुर्थ पंक्ति में तीर्थङ्कर और आहारकचतुष्क कम किया। इस प्रकार चार पंक्ति की अपेक्षा ३२ स्थान हुए तथा अपूर्वकरणवत् ४ स्थान कहे ये सर्व (३२+४) ३६ स्थान क्षपकअनिवृत्तिकरण गुणस्थान में हैं। अब इन स्थानों के भंग दो गाथाओं से कहते हैं
भंगा एकेका पुण, णउसयक्खविदचउसु ठाणेसु ।
विदियतुरियेसु दो दो, भंगा तित्थयरहीणेसु ।।३८७ ।। । अर्थ-क्षपकअनिवृत्तिकरण गुणस्थान के ३६ स्थानों में एक-एक भंग है, किन्तु जहाँ नपुंसकवेद का क्षय होता है ऐसे चारों स्थानों में तीर्थङ्कर प्रकृति की सत्तारहित दूसरी और चौथी पंक्ति के दो स्थानों में दो-दो भंग हैं।
थीपुरिसोदयचडिदे, पुव्वं संढे खवेदि थी अत्थि।
संढस्सुदये पुव्वं, थीखविदं संढमस्थित्ति ॥३८८।। अर्थ-जो जीव भावस्त्रीवेद अथवा पुरुषवेद के उदयसहित श्रेणी चढ़ते हैं वे पहले भावनपुसक्वेद का क्षय करते हैं, किन्तु भावस्त्रीवेद की सत्ता वहाँ रहती है। भावनपुंसकवेद के उदय सहित जो क्षपकश्रेणी चढ़ते हैं वे पहले भावस्त्रीवेद का क्षय करते हैं, उनके पूर्व में कहे गए दो स्थानों में नपुंसकवेद की सत्ता रहती है। इस प्रकार दो स्थानों के दो-दो भंग हैं। ऐसा होने पर ३६ स्थानों के ३८ भंग जानना तथा पूर्व में उपशमकअनिवृत्तिकरण गुणस्थान के २४ स्थान सम्बन्धी २४ भंग कहे थे सो ये सर्व मिलकर (३८+२४) ६२ भंग हुए। इस मत के अनुसार माया के सत्त्वरहित चार पंक्तियों के चार स्थान नहीं कहे हैं तथा 'चदुसेक्के बादरे' इत्यादि जो गाथा आगे कहेंगे, उस मत के अनुसार माया के सत्त्वरहित चार स्थान होते हैं।
