गुणस्थानों में आयु के बन्ध-अबन्ध का भेदपूर्वक वर्णन तो आगे करेंगे, यहाँ अब सत्त्वस्थान- संख्या को दो गाथाओं में कहते हैं
विगुणणव चारि अहं, मिच्छतिये अयदचउसु चालीसं । तिय उवसमगे संते, चवीसा होंति पत्तेयं ॥ ३६२ ||
चउछक्कदि चउअहं, चउछक्क य होंति सत्तठाणाणि । आउगबंधाबंधे, अजोगि अंते तो भंगा ॥ ३६३ ॥
अर्थ - मिथ्यात्वादि तीनगुणस्थानों में क्रमश: १८-४ व ८ सवस्थान हैं। असंयतादि चार गुणस्थानों में ४०-४० सत्त्वस्थान, अपूर्वकरणादि तीन उपशमश्रेणीवाले गुणस्थानों में तथा उपशान्तकषायगुणस्थान में प्रत्येक के २४- २४ सत्त्वस्थान, क्षपकश्रेणी की अपेक्षा अपूर्वकरण से अयोगकेवली गुणस्थानपर्यन्त क्रम से ४-३६-४-८-४ और ६ सत्त्व स्थान हैं। इस प्रकार आयु कर्म के बन्ध और अबन्ध की विवक्षा में अयोगी गुणस्थान पर्यन्त सत्त्वस्थान कहे। इसके आगे जो स्थानों के भंग हैं, उन्हें आगे की गाथा में कहते हैं।
विशेषार्थ - क्षपकश्रेणीसम्बन्धी अपूर्वकरणगुणस्थान में ४, अनिवृत्तिकरण गुणस्थान में ३६, सूक्ष्मसाम्परायगुणस्थान में ४, क्षीणकषायगुणस्थान में ८, सयोगकेवलीगुणस्थान में ४ और अयोगकेवलीगुणस्थान में ६ सत्त्वस्थान जानना |
तित्थसमे णिधिमिच्छे बद्धाउसि माणुसीगदि एग । मणुवणिरयाऊ भंगुप्पज्जत्ते भुज्जमाण णिरयाऊ || ३६३ क ॥
अर्थ - तीर्थप्रकृति के सत्त्वसहित बद्धायुष्क मिथ्यादृष्टि के मनुष्यगति में मनुष्यायु- नरकायु का एक भङ्ग होता है। मरकर उत्पन्न होने पर भुज्यमाननरकायु का एक भङ्ग होता है ।
विशेषार्थ - तीर्थङ्करप्रकृति के सत्त्वसहित मिथ्यादृष्टि के दो ही गति सम्भव हैं १. मनुष्यगति २. नरकगति। जिसने पूर्व में नरकायु का बन्ध कर लिया हो उसी मनुष्य के मिथ्यात्वगुणस्थान में तीर्थंकरप्रकृति का सत्त्व हो सकता है, क्योंकि द्वितीय या तृतीय नरक में उत्पन्न होने से एक अन्तर्मुहूर्त पूर्व वह मनुष्य मिथ्यात्व में आ जायेगा । अतः मनुष्यगति में एक बद्धायुष्कसम्बन्धी भङ्ग ही सम्भव है। किन्तु नरकगति में बद्धायुष्क सम्बन्धी भङ्ग सम्भव नहीं है। नरक में उत्पन्न होने के एक अन्तर्मुहूर्त तक ह मिथ्यादृष्टि रहता है उसके पश्चात् सम्यग्दृष्टि होकर तीर्थद्वरप्रकृति का बन्ध करने लगता है। नरकगति में परभवसम्बन्धी आयु का बन्ध मरण से छहमाह पूर्व होता है ।

A human being who has previously bound the lifespan of hell can have the Sattvas of a Tirthankara in the Micchattva Gunasthanas, because they will become a Micchattva within one Antarmukhurta before being born in the second or third hell. Therefore, only one destruction related to the bound lifespan is possible in the human realm. However, a destruction related to the bound lifespan is not possible in the hell realm. A being in hell remains a Micchattva for one Antarmukhurta after being born, and then becomes a Samyagdristi and starts binding the Sattvas of a Tirthankara. The binding of the lifespan related to the future life in the hell realm occurs six months before death.
