## Gommatasara Karmakanda - 225
In the first row, write the number of **dūna-dana** (double-double) for each **guṇa-hānī** (loss of merit) until the first **guṇa-hānī**. Then, add the numbers in each row and multiply them by the corresponding **guṇa-hānī** to get the total number of **trikoṇa** (triangles) in each row.
**Example:**
* **Guṇa-hānī:** 9, 19, 30, 42055/691, 84, 100, 118, 138, 160, 184, 250, 238, 268, 300, 336, 376, 420, 468, 5201576, 636, 700, 772, 852, 940, 2036, 1140, 1252, 1372, 1500, 1644, 1804, 19801, 2172, 23801, 2604, 2844, 3100, 3388, 370844060, 4444, 4860, 53085788, 6300.
* **Total number of trikoṇa in each row:** 9, 19, 30, 42055/691, 84, 100, 118, 138, 160, 184, 250, 238, 268, 300, 336, 376, 420, 468, 5201576, 636, 700, 772, 852, 940, 2036, 1140, 1252, 1372, 1500, 1644, 1804, 19801, 2172, 23801, 2604, 2844, 3100, 3388, 370844060, 4444, 4860, 53085788, 6300.
The total number of **trikoṇa** in all rows is the total number of **dravya** (matter) in the **trikoṇa-yantrasambandhi** (triangle-related) system. This total is slightly less than 1.5 times the **guṇa-hānī** multiplied by the **samaya-prabaddha-pramāṇa** (time-bound quantity).
**Example:**
* **Total number of dravya:** 71,304
* **Guṇa-hānī āyāma** (dimension of loss of merit): 8
* **1.5 times guṇa-hānī āyāma:** 12
* **Samaya-prabaddha-pramāṇa:** 6300
* **1.5 times guṇa-hānī āyāma multiplied by samaya-prabaddha-pramāṇa:** 75,600
The total number of **dravya** is less than 75,600 because the **guṇakāra** (multiplier) is slightly less than 1.5.
The total number of **trikoṇa** in the **trikoṇa-racanā** (triangle construction) is the same as the number of **satta-rūpa dravya** (seven types of matter).
The **niṣeka** (seeds) and other **pramāṇa** (quantities) should be understood in the same way as they are described in the **asandṛṣṭi** (non-perception) section. All statements should be understood in the same way as they are described in the **arthasandṛṣṭi** (perception) section.
The **karma-paramaṇu** (karma particles) associated with a **jīva** (soul) are always present in a quantity that is slightly less than 1.5 times the **guṇa-hānī** multiplied by the **samaya-prabaddha-pramāṇa**.
To calculate the number of **karma-paramaṇu**, multiply the **samaya-prabaddha-pramāṇa** by 1.5 times the **guṇa-hānī āyāma** and then subtract the 18th part of the **guṇa-hānī āyāma** multiplied by the square of the number of **palyas** (moments).
**Example:**
* **Guṇa-hānī āyāma:** 8
* **1.5 times guṇa-hānī āyāma:** 12
* **Samaya-prabaddha-pramāṇa:** 6300
* **Number of palyas:** 10
* **Square of the number of palyas:** 100
* **18th part of guṇa-hānī āyāma multiplied by the square of the number of palyas:** 55.55
* **Number of karma-paramaṇu:** (12 * 6300) - 55.55 = 75,594.45
The **karma-pradeśa** (karma region) is said to be infinite because the **anubhāga-bandha** (section-binding) and **adhyavasāya-sthāna** (decision-place) are infinite.
New **samaya-prabaddha** (time-bound quantities) are constantly being bound and unbound, but the total number of **karma-paramaṇu** remains constant.
The **nirjarā** (unbinding) of a **samaya-prabaddha** occurs in the following way:
* If a **samaya-prabaddha** is bound in the current **vivṛṣṭa-samaya** (desired time) and its **ābaḍhā-kāla** (obstruction time) has also passed, then 512
