शंका- गाथा में 'पढमुवसम्मत्त' शब्द आया है मो इससे तो यह साबित होता है कि द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व के लिए यह बात नहीं है । क्या यह ठीक है ?
समाधान--ठीक है, इसमें क्या शंका ?
शंका-तो फिर 'द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व के साथ आहारकद्विक व परिहारविशुद्धि व मन:पर्यय होने सम्भव हैं." ऐसा कहना ठीक है ना ?
समाधान--ऐसा नहीं है, वही कहा जाता है-प्रथमोप णम सम्यक्त्व के साथ जैसे मनःपर्ययज्ञान, परिहार विशुद्धिसंयम और पाहारकाद्विक ये सब (यानी तीनों) नहीं हो सकते, वैसे द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व के साथ सभी के सभी (सीनो ही) में से कोई भी नहीं हो सकते हों, ऐसी बात नहीं है। द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व के साथ मनःपर्ययज्ञान तो हो सकता है। हाँ, द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व के साथ परिहारविशुद्धि व आहारकद्रिक नहीं होते, इतना ठीक है। सारतः द्वितीय उपशम के साथ तीनों मार्गणाएँ निषिद्ध न होकर मार्गणाद्धय ही निषिद्ध हैं।
शंका-द्वितीयोपशमसम्यवत्व मनःपर्य यज्ञानी के कै सम्भव है ?
समाधान-जो वेदक सम्यवत्व से पीछे द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व को प्राप्त करता है उस उपशम सम्यक्त्वी के प्रथम समय में भी मनःपर्ययज्ञान पाया जाता है। किन्तु सीधे मिथ्यात्व से आये हुए उपशम सम्यम्दृष्टि जीव में मनःपर्ययज्ञान नहीं पाया जाता है।
वयोंकि, मिथ्यात्व से पीछे पाये हुए उपशम सम्यक्त्वी के उपशम मम्यक्त्व के उत्कृष्टकाल से भी ग्रहण किये गये सबम के प्रथम समय से लगाकर मवं जवन्य मन.पर्यवज्ञान को उत्पन्न करने वाला काल बहन बड़ा है। प्रतः द्वितीयोपणमसम्यकत्वों के मनःपयंयज्ञान सम्भव है। यानी प्रथमोपशम सम्यग्दृष्टि के प्रथमोपशम सम्यक्त्व के रहने का काल अन्तर्मुहूर्त ही है। तथा यह अन्नमुहूर्त काल, संयम को ग्रहण करने के पश्चात् मनःपर्य यज्ञान को उत्पन्न करने के लिए योग्य संग्रम में विशेषता लाने के लिए जितना काल लगता है, उससे छोटा है । अतः प्रथमोपशम सम्यक्त्व के काल में मनःपर्यय की उत्पत्ति हो सकती नहीं, परन्तु द्वितीय उपशमसम्यक्त्व तो उपशम श्रेणी के अभिमुख विशेषसंयमी के ही होता है । इसलिए यहाँ पर अलग से मनःपर्ययज्ञान के योग्य विशेष संयम को उत्पन्न करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं रह जाती। फलन: द्वितीयोपशम मम्यक्त्व के ग्रहण के प्रथम समय में भी मनःपर्ययज्ञान सम्भव है।
