- जिन श्रात्म-परिणामों से कर्मों का आगमन होता है, वह भावास्रव है। कर्मों का आगमन वह द्रव्य यात्रव है ।
राणावरशादी जोगं जं पुग्गलं समासवदि । दवासको स स्रो प्रणेयश्रो जिरा ||३१|| [ द्रव्यसंग्रह ]
-- ज्ञानावरणादि आठ कर्मों के वह एक दवा है। इस अनन्तगुणा और सिद्धों के अनन्तवें भाग प्रमाण वाला है । '
योग्य जो पुद्गल आता है उसे द्रव्यासव जानना चाहिए । का प्रमाण एकसमयप्रवद्ध मात्र है, जो प्रभव्यों से
कर्मों का एकदेश झड़ना, निर्जीर्ण होना निर्जरा है। वह निर्जरा दो प्रकार की है
सा पुरण दुबिहा णेया सकाल-पत्ता तवेण कयमारणा । अगदीणं पढमा वय -जुत्ताणं हवे विदिया ॥ १०४ ॥
-- वह निर्जरा दो प्रकार की है। एक स्वकाल प्राप्त अर्थात् सविपाक और दूसरी तप के द्वारा की जाने वाली अर्थात् अविपाक निर्जरा । पहली निर्जरा चारों गति के जीवों के होती है और दूसरी निर्जरा व्रती जीवों के होती है। अनेक जाति विशेष रूपी भँवर युक्त चारगतिरूपी संसार महासमुद्र में चिरकाल तक परिभ्रमण करनेवाले इस जीव के क्रम से परिपाक काल को प्राप्त हुए और अनुभवोदयावली रूपी झरने में प्रविष्ट हुए ऐसे शुभाशुभ कर्म का फल देकर जो निवृत्ति होती है, वह विपाकजा निर्जरा है। तथा जैसे आम और पनस को कमिक क्रियाविशेष के द्वारा अकाल में पका लेते हैं, उसी प्रकार जिसका विपाक काल अभी नहीं प्राप्त हुआ है फिर भी श्रमिक क्रियाविशेष की सामर्थ्य से उदयावली के बाहर स्थित जो कर्म बलपूर्वक उदयावली में प्रविष्ट करके अनुभवा जाता है. वह अविपाक निर्जरा है ।"

प्रतिसमय एकसमयप्रबद्ध प्रमाण द्रव्य बँधता है और सामान्यतः एकसमयप्रवद्ध प्रमाण द्रव्यकर्म उदय में आकर निर्जरा को प्राप्त होता है। यह विपाक निर्जरा है। कुछ कम डेढ़ गुगाहानि समयबद्ध प्रमाण सत्व द्रव्यकर्म है ।

असंख्यातगुणे द्रव्यकर्म की निर्जरा होती है। कहा भी है-
