समाधान - जैसे एक कोठरी में अनेक दीपकों का प्रकाश व एक गूढ नागरस के गुटके में वह तसा सुवर्ण व ऊँटनी के दूध के भरे एक घट में मधु का भरा घट, व एक तहखाने में जयजयकार शब्द व घंटा आदि वा शब्द विशेष अवगाहना गुरण के कारण अवकाश पाते हैं, वैसे ही असंख्यातप्रदेशी लोक में अनन्तानन्त जीवादि भी अवकाश रा सकते हैं।'
अवगहणं पायासं जीवादीसव्वदव्याणं ॥३०॥[नियमसार] --जो जीवादि समस्त द्रव्यों के अवगाहन का निमित्त है वह पानाश द्रव्य है।
सयलाणं दव्याणं जं दाद सक्कदे हि प्रवगासं । तं आयासं दुविहं लोयालोयाण भएण ॥२१३॥
[स्वामिकातिकेयानुप्रेक्षा] -जो समस्त द्रव्यों को अवकाश देने में समर्थ है वह आकाश द्रव्य है, जो लोक व प्रलोक के भेद से दो प्रकार का है। कालद्रव्य के स्वरूप का विशेष कथन स्वयं ग्रन्थकार प्रागे गाथा ५६. में कर रहे हैं, अत: यहां पर नहीं किया गया ।
काल दूव्य यत्तणहेदू कालो वत्तण गुणमविय दबरिणचयेसु ।
कालाधारेणेव य वट्टति हु सव्यदध्याणि ॥५६८।। गाथार्थ - जिसका वर्तना हेतु है, यह काल है। द्रव्यों में परिवर्तनगुण होते हुए भी काल के आधार से सर्व द्रव्य वर्तते हैं अर्थात् अपनी-अपनी पर्यायों के द्वारा परिणमन करते हैं ।।५६८।।
विशेषार्थ-परिशमन करना प्रत्येक द्रव्य का स्वभाव है। उस परिणमन में बाह्य निमित्त कारण काल द्रव्य है।
___ जोवादीदवाणं परिवट्टणकारण हव कालो ॥पूर्वार्ध गाथा ३३॥ -~-जीवादिक द्रव्यों में जो प्रनिसमय वर्तना रूप परिणमन होता है उसका निमित्त कारण काल द्रव्य है। छहों द्रव्यों के वर्तन में जो कारण है वह प्रवर्तन लक्षण वाला मुख्य काल है।
सवाणं दध्वारा परिणाम जो करेवि सो काली ॥पूर्वार्ध गाथा २१६॥
