गाथार्थ - रुष्ट होना, निन्दा करना, अन्य को बहुत प्रकार से दोष लगाना, प्रचुर शोक व भय से संयुक्त होना, ईर्षा करना, परका तिरस्कार करना, अपनी अनेक प्रकार प्रशंसा करना, दूसरों को भी अपने समान समझ कर उनका कभी विश्वास नहीं करना, अपनी प्रशंसा करने वालों से सन्तुष्ट होना, हानि-लाभ को नहीं जानना, युद्ध में मरण की प्रार्थना करना, स्तुति करने वालों को बहुतसा पारितोषिक देना, कर्तव्य - प्रकर्त्तव्य के विवेक से हीन होना ये सब कापोतलेश्या के लक्षण हैं ।।५१२-५१४ ।।
• विशेषार्थ – दूसरों पर क्रोध करना, उनको निन्दा करना, उनको अनेक प्रकार से दुःख देना अथवा वैर रखना, शोकातुर होना, भयभीत रहना, दूसरों के ऐश्वर्यादि को सहन न कर सकना, उनका तिरस्कार करना, नाना प्रकार से अपनी प्रशंसा करना, दूसरों पर विश्वास न करना, दूसरों को भी अपने जैसा धोखेबाज मानना, स्तुति करने वाले पर सन्तुष्ट हो जाना और बहुत घन दे देना, अपनी हानि वृद्धि को कुछ भी न समझना, रण में मररण की इच्छा रखना, कार्य व प्रकार्य में अविवेक इत्यादि ये सब कापोत लेश्या के कर्म हैं । अथवा 'कापोत लेश्या' जीव को कृष्णलेश्या से सम्बन्धित सर्व कार्यों में जघन्य उद्यमशील करती है । '

गाथार्थ – 'तेजोलेश्या जीव को कर्तव्य-अकर्तव्य तथा सेव्य-सेव्य का जानकार, समस्त जीवों को समान समझने वाला, दया दान में लवलीन और सरल करती है ।

विशेषार्थं तेजोलेश्या वाला जीव अहिंसक, मधु मांस व मद्य का असेवी, सत्यबुद्धि, तथा चोरी व परद्वारा का त्यागी होता है । अथवा अपने कार्य प्रकार्य सेव्य असेव्य को समझने वाला हो, सब के विषय में समदर्शी हो, दया और दान में तत्पर हो, कोमल परिणामी हो, ये सत्र पीतलेश्या के कर्म अथवा चिह्न है

गाथा - पद्मलेश्या में परिणत जीव त्यागी, भद्र, चोवखा, ऋजुकर्मा, भारी अपराध को भी क्षमा करने वाला तथा साधुपूजा व गुरुपूजा में तत्पर रहता है ।
विशेषार्थ - दान देने वाला हो, भद्र-परिणामी हो, जिसका उत्तम कार्य करने का स्वभाव हो, इष्ट तथा अनिष्ट उपद्रवों को सहन करने वाला हो, मुनि-गुरु श्रादि की पूजा में प्रीतियुक्त हो । ये सब पद्मा वाले के चिह्न अथवा कर्म हैं ।
