के भीतर यह वचन क्षेत्र का नियामक नहीं है, किन्तु मानुषोत्तर पर्वत के भीतर पैनालीस साख योजनों का नियामक है, क्योंकि, विपुलमति मनःपर्ययज्ञान के उद्योत सहित क्षेत्र को घनाकार से स्थापित करने पर पंतालीस लाख योजन ही होता है।
ऋजुमति व विपुलमति विषयक काल का कपन दुगतिगभवा हु प्रवरं सत्तभवा हवंति उक्कस्सं ।
अडणवभवा हु अवरमसंखेज्ज विउलउक्कस्सं ॥४५७।। गाथार्थ - ऋजुमति विषयक जघन्य काल दो तीन भव और उत्कृष्ट सात पाठ भव प्रमाण है। विपुलमति विषयक प्राट नौ भव जघन्य काल है और उत्कृष्ट काल असंख्यात भव हैं ॥४५७।।
विशेषार्थ--ऋजुमति मनःपर्ययज्ञान काल की अपेक्षा जघन्य से दो तीन भवों को जानता है ।१६५॥
शंका-यदि दो ही भवों को जानता है तो तीन भवों को नहीं जान सकता, और यदि तीन को जानता है तो दो को नहीं जानता, क्योंकि तीन को दो रूप मानने में विरोध पाता है।
समाधान—यह कोई दोष नहीं है, क्योंकि वह वर्तमान भव के बिना दो भवों को और वर्तमान के साथ तीन भवों को जानता है, इसलिए दो और तीन भव कहे गए हैं।
प्रकृप्ति-अनुयोगद्वार में कहा है कि उत्कर्ष से सात और पाठ भवों को जानता है ।।६६।। यहाँ पर भी वर्तमान भव के बिना मातु भवों को, अन्यथा पार भवों को जानता है । अनियतकाल रूप भवग्रहमा का निर्देश होने से यहाँ काल का नियम नहीं है, ऐमा जानना चाहिये जघन्य और उत्कृष्ट काल के मध्यम विकल्पों को तद् व्यतिरिक्त ऋजुमति मनःपर्यय ज्ञान जानता है।
कृति एवं प्रकृति अनुयोगद्वार में भी कहा है कि विपुलमति मनःपर्ययज्ञान काल की अपेक्षा जघन्य से सात-पाठ भवग्रहण को और उत्कर्ष से असंख्यात भवग्रहण को जानता है । इतने काल के जीवों की गति, प्रागति, मुक्त, कृत और प्रतिसेवित अर्थ को प्रत्यक्ष जानता है. यह उक्त कथन का तात्पर्य है । परन्तु विपुलमति के जघन्य काल के विषय में इन दोनों (कृति एवं प्रकृति) अनुयोगद्वारों से भिन्न कथन इस गाथा में किया गया है।
