।। श्रीमन्नेमिचन्द्राय नमः ॥ + गोम्मटसारः॥
* जीवकाण्डम् *
मङ्गलाचरण और वस्तु-निरूपण की प्रतिज्ञा-- सिद्ध सुद्ध पणमिय जिरिंगदवरणेमिचंदमकलंकं ।
गुरगरयणभूसणुवयं जीवस्स परूवणं वोच्छं ॥१॥ गाथार्थ - जो सिद्ध हैं, शुद्ध हैं, अकलङ्क हैं और जिनके गुणरूपी रत्नों के भूषगों का उदय रहता है, ऐसे जिनेन्द्रवर (श्रेष्ठ) नेमिचन्द्र (नेमिनाथ) भगवान को नमस्कार करके मैं (नेमिचन्द्राचार्य) जीव की प्ररूपरणा कहता हूँ ।।१।।
विशेषार्थ – इस प्रथम गाथा में ग्रन्थकर्ता श्रीमन्नेमिचन्द्राचार्य ने इष्टदेव को नमस्कार करके जीवप्ररूपणा के कथन की प्रतिज्ञा की है।
जो कृतकृत्य हैं, अत: सिद्ध हैं; द्रव्य-भावरूप धातिया-कर्मों मे रहित हैं, अत: शुद्ध हैं । सुधादि अठारह दोषों से रहित हैं, अतः अकलक हैं तथा अनन्त-ज्ञानादि गुणरूप रत्नों की प्रकटना होने से गुणरत्नभुषणोदय हैं, उन नेमिनाथ भगवान को नमस्कार करके, अथवा
घातिया कर्म के नाश में प्रकट अनन्तज्ञानादि नव केवललब्धिरूप अनुपम ऐश्वर्य से सहित होने से जो जिनेन्द्र हैं अर्थात् जिनकी ज्ञानप्रभा से तीनों लोक और तीनों काल व्याप्त हैं, तीर्थरूपी रथ का प्रवर्तन करने में जो नेमि (धुरा ) के समान हैं, तीनो लोकों के नेत्रकमलों को विकसित करने में जो चन्द्र के समान हैं, ऐसे जिनेन्द्र श्रेष्ठ चतुविति तीर्थव र समुदाय को, अथवा कर्मरूपी पर्वतों के भेदन करने वाले जिन हैं उनमें इन्द्र-प्रधान इन्द्रभूति गौतम गगाधर के वर (गुरु) श्री वर्धमान स्वामी को नमस्कार करके जो कि नेमिचन्द्र भी हैं, क्योंकि शिष्यों को अविनाशी पद पर ले जाने से वे "नेमि" हैं तथा चन्द्रवत विश्वतन्वप्रकाशक होने से चन्द्र भी हैं। इस तरह वर्धमान स्वामी ही नेमिचन्द्र हैं; उन्हें नमस्कार करके प्रथया साध्य को सिद्ध कर लेने से जो सिद्ध है; ज्ञानावरणादि पाठ प्रकार के द्रव्यभावरूप कमों से रहित हैं अतः शुद्ध है; परवादियों द्वारा कल्पित दोषों का अभाव होने से जो प्रकलङ्क
