अष्टाविंशतितम पर्व तदेनं शरमभ्यर्च्य गन्धमाल्याक्षतादिभिः । पूज्यायव विमोराज्ञा गत्वास्माभिः शरार्पणा ॥१७॥ मा गा मागध वैचित्यं' कार्यमेतद् विनिश्चिनु । न युक्तं तत्प्रतीपत्वं तव तदेशवासिनः ॥१५॥ तदलं देव संरभ्य तत्प्रातीयं न शान्तये । महतः सरिदोघस्य कः प्रतीपं तरन् सुखी ॥१४९॥ बलवाननुवर्त्यश्चेदनुनेयोऽद्य चक्रभृत् । महत्सु चैतसीं वृत्तिमामनन्स्यविपत्करीम् ॥१५॥ इहामुत्र च जन्तूनामुन्मत्यै पूज्यपूजनम् । तापं तत्रानुबध्नाति पूज्यपूजाव्यतिक्रमः ॥१५॥ इति तद्वचनास्किंचित् प्रबुद्ध इव तत्क्षणम् । अज्ञातमेवमेतत्स्यादित्यसौ प्रत्यपद्यत" ॥१५॥ ससंभ्रममिवास्याभूञ्चित्तं किंचित्ससाध्वसम् । साशङ्कमिव सोद्वेगं प्रबुद्धमिव च क्षणम् ॥१५३॥ ततः प्रसेदुषी तस्य नचिरादेव शेमुषी । पूर्वापरं व्यलोकिष्ट कोपापायात् प्रशेमुषी ॥१५॥ सोऽयं चक्रभृतामाद्यो भरतोऽलङ्घयशासनः । प्रतीक्ष्यः सर्वथास्माभिरनु नेयश्च सादरम् ॥१५५॥ चक्रित्वं चरमाङ्गत्वं पुत्रत्वं च जगद्गुरोः । इत्यस्य पूज्यमेकैकं किं पुनस्तत्समुच्चितम् ॥१५६॥
इति निश्चित्य "संभ्रान्तैरनुयातः सुरोत्तमैः । सहसा चक्रिणं द्रष्टुमुच्चचाल स मागधः ॥१५७॥ चक्रवर्तीको प्रकट कर रही है ॥१४६।। इसलिए गन्ध माला अक्षत आदिसे इस बाणकी पूजा कर हम लोगोंको आज ही वहाँ जाकर उनका यह बाण उन्हें अर्पण कर देना चाहिए और आज ही उनकी आज्ञा मान्य करनी चाहिए ॥१४७॥ हे मागध, आप किसी प्रकारके विकारको प्राप्त मत हूजिए, और हम लोगोंके द्वारा कहे हुए इस कार्यका अवश्य ही निश्चय कीजिए, क्योंकि उनके देशमें रहनेवाले आपको उनके साथ विरोध करना उचित नहीं है ॥१४८।। इसलिए हे देव, क्रोध करना व्यर्थ है, चक्रवर्तीके साथ वैर करनेसे कुछ शान्ति नहीं होगी क्योंकि नदीके बड़े भारी प्रवाहके प्रतिकूल तैरनेवाला कौन सुखी हो सकता है ? अर्थात् कोई नहीं ॥१४९।। यदि बलवान् मनुष्यको अनुकूल बनाये रखना चाहिए यह नीति है तो चक्रवर्तीको आज ही प्रसन्न करना चाहिए, क्योंकि बड़े पुरुषोंके विषयमें बेंतके समान नम्र वृत्ति ही दुःख दूर करनेवालो है ऐसा विद्वान् लोग मानते हैं ॥१५०॥ पूज्य मनुष्योंकी पूजा करनेसे इस लोक तथा परलोक-दोनों ही लोकोंमें जीवोंको उन्नति होती है और पूज्य पुरुषों की पूजाका उल्लंघन अर्थात् अनादर करनेसे दोनों ही लोकोंमें पापबन्ध होता है ॥१५१।। इस प्रकार उन देवोंके वचनोंसे जिसे उसी समय कुछ-कुछ बोध उत्पन्न हुआ है ऐसे उस मागध देवने मुझे यह हाल मालूम नहीं था यह कहते हुए उनके वचन स्वीकार कर लिये ॥१५२॥ उस समय उसके चित्तमें कुछ घबड़ाहट, कुछ भय, कुछ आशंका, कुछ उद्वेग और कुछ प्रबोध-सा उत्पन्न हो रहा रहा था ॥१५३।। तदनन्तर थोड़ी ही देरमें निर्मल हुई और क्रोधके नष्ट हो जानेसे शान्त हुई उसकी बुद्धिने आगे पीछेका सब हाल देख लिया ॥१५४॥ यह वही चक्रवर्तियोंमें पहला चक्रवर्ती भरत है जिसकी कि आज्ञाका कोई उल्लंघन नहीं कर सकता, हम लोगोंको हरएक प्रकारसे इसकी पूजा करनी चाहिए और आदरसहित इसकी आज्ञा माननी चाहिए ॥१५५।। यह चक्रवर्ती है, चरमशरीरी है और जगद्गुरु भगवान् वृषभदेवका पुत्र है, इन तीनोंमें-से एकएक गुण ही पूज्य होता है फिर जिसमें तीनोंका समुदाय है उसकी तो बात ही क्या कहनी है ? ॥१५६।। इस प्रकार निश्चय कर वह मागध देव शीघ्र ही चक्रवर्तीको देखनेके लिए आकाश-मार्गसे चला, उस समय सम्भ्रमको प्राप्त हुए अनेक अच्छे-अच्छे देव उसके पीछे-पीछे १ चित्तविकारम् । २ चक्रिप्रतिकूलत्वम् । ३ -वर्तिनः ल०। ४ संरम्भ मा कार्षीः। (५ प्रातिकूल्यम् । ६ प्रवाहस्य । ७ वेतससम्बन्धिनीम्। अनुकूलतामित्यर्थः । ८ पापं ल०। ९ जन्तौ। १० एव । ११ अनुमेने । १२ इव अवधारणे। १३ प्रसन्नवती। १४ अलाकालेनैव । १५ उपशमवती । १६ पूज्यः । सांशयिकः, संशयापनमानसः । १७ सम्भ्रमवद्भिः ।।

We should worship him in every way and obey his command with respect. ||155|| He is the Chakravarti, the ultimate being, and the son of the Jagadguru, Vrishabhadeva. Each of these three qualities is worthy of worship, so what can be said of him who possesses all three? ||156|| Having decided thus, the Magadha Deva, accompanied by many excellent Devas who were in a state of confusion, immediately set out to see the Chakravarti by the aerial path. ||157||
