विथुगावलीयय स्वामनुरकामवश्यया । न व्याज्येति तदाकयं स विचिन्त्योचितं वचः ॥४०॥ मयोपनयनेऽग्राहि व्रतं गुरुभिरर्पितम् । मुक्त्वा गुरुजनानीतां स्वीकरोमि न चापराम् ॥४१॥ इस्योत्ततस्ताच शृङ्गाररसः । नानाविधं रजयितुं प्रवृत्ता नाशकस्तदा ॥ ४२ ॥ विद्युद्वेगा तो गच्छ स्वमातृपितृसंनिधौ । पिधाय द्वारमारोप सौधाग्रं प्राणवल्लभम् ॥४३॥ तावानेतुं कुमारोऽपि सुतवान् रककम्बलम् । प्रावृतं समालोक्य भेरुण्डः विशितोचयम् ॥४४॥ मानवा द्विजः सिद्धकूटाग्रे खादितुं स्थितः । चलन्तं वीक्ष्य सोऽत्याक्षीत् स तेषां जातिजो गुण: ४५ "ततोऽवतीयं श्रीपाल स्नात्वा सरसि मतिमान् सुपुष्पाणि सुगन्धीनि समादाय जिनालयम् ॥४६॥ परीत्यस्तोमारंभे विवृत" द्वास्तदा स्वयम् । निरीक्षण प्रसन्नसन्नभ्यच्यं निपुंगवान् ॥४७॥ अभिवन्द्य यथाकामं विधिवत सुस्थितः । तमभ्येत्य खगः कश्चित् समुद्रस्य नभः पथे ॥४८॥ गच्छन्मनोरमे राष्ट्रे शिवंकरपुरेशिनः । नृपस्यानिल वेगस्य कान्ता कान्तवर्तीत्यभूत् ॥४९॥ तयोः सुतां भोगवतीमाकाशस्फटिकालये सुदुशय्यातले सुप्तां का कुमारीयमिवसी ॥५०॥ अपृच्छत् सोऽयवीदेषा भुजंगी विषमेति च तदुक्तः स कुधा कृत्वा कम्पापिनुसमीपगम् ॥५१॥

आपको देखकर आपमें अत्यन्त अनुरक्त हो गयी है अतः आपको यह छोड़नी नहीं चाहिए । कुमारने ये सब बातें सुनकर और अच्छी तरह विचारकर उचित उत्तर दिया कि मैंने यज्ञोपवीत संस्कारके समय गुरुजनोंके द्वारा दिया हुआ एक व्रत ग्रहण किया था और वह यह है कि मैं माता-पिता आदि गुरुजनोंके द्वारा दी हुई कन्याको छोड़कर और किसी कन्याको स्वीकार नहीं करूंगा । जब कुमारने यह उत्तर दिया तब वे सब कन्याएँ अनेक प्रकारकी श्रृंगाररसकी चेष्टाओ कुमारको अनुरक्त करनेके लिए तैयार हुई परन्तु जब उसे अनुरक्त नहीं कर सकीं तब विद्युद्वेगा प्राणपति श्रीपालको मकानकी छतपर छोड़कर और बाहरसे दरवाजा बन्द कर माता-पिताको बुलाने के लिए उनके पास गयी। इधर कुमार श्रीपाल भी लाल कम्बल ओढ़कर सो गये, इसने में एक भेरुण्ड पक्षीकी दृष्टि उनपर पड़ी, वह उन्हें मांसका पिण्ड समझकर उठा ले गया और सिद्धकूट चैत्यालय के अग्रभागपर रखकर खानेके लिए तैयार हुआ परन्तु कुमारको हिलता डुलता देखकर उसने उन्हें छोड़ दिया सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि यह उन पक्षियोंका जन्मजात गुण है ।।३४-४५ ॥ तदनन्तर श्रीपालने सिद्धकूटके शिखरसे नीचे उतरकर सरोवर में स्नान किया और अच्छे-अच्छे सुगन्धित फूल लेकर भक्तिपूर्वक श्री जिनालयकी प्रदक्षिणा दी और स्तुति करना प्रारम्भ किया, उसी समय चैत्यालयका द्वार अपने आप खुल गया, यह देखकर वह बहुत ही प्रसन्न हुआ और विधिपूर्वक इच्छानुसार श्रीजिनेन्द्रदेवकी पूजा-वन्दना कर सुखसे वहीं पर बैठ गया। इतनेमें ही एक विद्याधर सामने आया और कुमारको उठाकर आकाशमार्ग में ले चला, चलते-चलते वे मनोरम देशके शिवंकरपुर नगरमें पहुँचे, वहांके राजाका नाम अनिलवेग था, और उसकी स्त्रीका नाम था कान्तवती, उन दोनोंके भोगवती नामकी पुत्री थी, वह भोगवती आकाश में बने हुए स्फटिकके महल में कोमल शय्यापर सो रही थी उसे देखकर उस विद्याधर ने श्रीपालकुमारसे पूछा कि यह कुमारी कौन है? कुमारने उत्तर दिया कि

**41.** Hearing this, all the girls, filled with the essence of love, tried in various ways to attract the Kumar, but when they failed, Vidyudvega, leaving her beloved Sri Pal on the roof of the house, closed the door from outside and went to call his parents.

**42.** Meanwhile, Kumar Sri Pal, wearing a red blanket, fell asleep. A Bherunda bird, seeing him, mistook him for a piece of meat and picked him up, intending to eat him on the top of the Siddhakut Chaitya. But seeing the Kumar moving, it left him. This is the natural quality of birds.

**43.** After that, Sri Pal descended from the top of the Siddhakut, bathed in the lake, and, taking fragrant flowers, circumambulated the Jinalaya with devotion and began to praise. At that moment, the door of the Chaitya opened by itself. Seeing this, he was very happy and, after paying homage to the Jinenadradev according to the rituals, sat down comfortably.

**44.** At that moment, a Vidyadhara appeared and, lifting the Kumar, took him away through the sky. While traveling, they reached the beautiful city of Shivankarpur. The king's name was Anilvega, and his wife's name was Kantvati. They had a daughter named Bhogavati, who was sleeping on a soft bed in a palace made of crystal in the sky. Seeing her, the Vidyadhara asked Sri Pal, "Who is this young lady?"
