त्रिचत्वारिंशत्तमं पर्व

कीर्तिश्चिरा लक्ष्मीरतिवृद्धा सरस्वती । जीर्णेतरापि शान्तेव' लक्ष्यते क्षतविद्विषः ॥ ३२० ॥ ततस्त्वयि वयोरूपशीलादिगुणभाज्यलम् । प्रीतिर्लतेव हक पुष्पा प्रवृद्धास्य फलिप्यति ॥ ३२१ ॥ युवाभ्यां निर्जितः कामः संप्रत्यभ्यन्तरीकृतः । स वामपजयायाभूदरिर्विश्रम्भितोऽप्यरिः ॥ ३२२ ॥ निष्ठुरं जृम्भते मुष्मिन्नु भयारिरपि स्मरः । मध्वेव त्वां स्त्रियं भूयो मटेषु भटमत्सरः ॥ ३२३ ॥ विख्यातविजयः श्रीमान् यानमात्रेण निर्जितः । त्वयाऽयमत एवात्र जयो न्यायागतस्तव ॥ ३२४ ॥ प्राध्वं कृत्य गले रत्नमालया हक्शरैर्जितम् । जयलक्ष्मीस्तवैवास्तु तत्त्वमेनं करे कुरु ॥ ३२५ ॥ इति तस्य वचः श्रुत्वा स्मरषाड्गुण्यवेदिनः । शनैर्विगलितव्रीडा लोललीलावलोकनः ॥३२६॥ तदा जन्मान्तरस्नेहश्चाक्षुषी" सुन्दराकृतिः । कुन्दमासा" गुणास्तस्य श्रावणाः पुष्प सायकः ॥ ३२७॥ करती है इसलिए इसने सूर्य और चन्द्रमा दोनोंको शक्तिरहित कर दिया ||३१६ ॥ समस्त शत्रुओं को नष्ट करनेवाले इस जयकुमारकी कीर्ति तो सदा बाहर रहती है, लक्ष्मी अत्यन्त वृद्ध है, सरस्वती जीर्ण है और वीर लक्ष्मी शान्त-सी दिखती है इसलिए दृष्टिरूपी पुष्पोंसे युक्त और खूब बढ़ी हुई इसकी प्रीतिरूपी लता वय, रूप, शील आदि गुणोंसे सहित तुझमें ही अच्छी तरह फलीभूत होगी । भावार्थ - ३१६ वें श्लोक में बतलाया था कि इसके चार प्रिय स्त्रियाँ हैं कीर्ति, लक्ष्मी, सरस्वती और वीरलक्ष्मी परन्तु उनसे तुझे सपत्नीजन्य दुःखका अनुभव नहीं करना पड़ेगा। क्योंकि कीर्ति नामकी स्त्री तो सदा बाहर ही घूमती रहती है-- अन्तःपुरमें उसका प्रवेश नहीं हो पाता ( पक्ष में उसकी कीर्ति समस्त संसारमें फैली हुई है ), लक्ष्मी अत्यन्त वृद्ध हैवृद्धावस्था युक्त पक्ष में बढ़ी हुई है ), सरस्वती भी जीर्ण अर्थात् वृद्धावस्था के कारण शिथिल शरीर हो रही है ( पक्ष में परिपक्व है ) इसलिए इन तीनोंपर उसका खास प्रेम नहीं रहता । अब रह जाती है वीरलक्ष्मी, यद्यपि वह तरुण है और सदा उसके पास रहती है परन्तु अत्यन्त शान्त है--शृंगार आदिकी ओर उसका आकर्षण नहीं है ( पक्षमें क्षमायुक्त शूरवीरता है ) इसलिए इन चारोंसे राजाकी प्रीति हटकर तुझपर ही आरूढ़ होगी क्योंकि तू वय, रूप, शील आदि गुणों सहित है ।। ३२० - ३२१|| तुम दोनोंने पहले जिस कामदेवको जीतकर दूर हटाया था उसे अब अपने अन्तःकरणमें बैठा लिया है, अथवा खास विश्वासपात्र बना लिया है परन्तु अब वही कामदेव तुम दोनोंका पराजय करनेके लिए तैयार हो रहा है सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि शत्रुका कितना ही विश्वास क्यों न किया जाय वह अन्तमें शत्रु ही रहता है || ३२२ ॥ यद्यपि यह कामदेव तुम दोनोंका शत्रु है तथापि तुझे स्त्री मानकर इसी एकपर बड़ी निष्ठुरताके साथ अपना प्रभाव बढ़ा रहा है सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि योद्धाओं की ईर्ष्या योद्धाओंपर ही होती है । भावार्थ-वह तुझे स्त्री समझ कायर मानकर अधिक दुःखी नहीं करता है परन्तु जयकुमार र अपना पूरा प्रभाव डाल रहा है || ३२३ || जिसका विजय सर्वत्र प्रसिद्ध है ऐसे श्रीमान् जयकुमारको तूने यान अर्थात् आगमन ( पक्षमें युद्धके लिए किये हुए प्रस्थान ) मात्र के द्वारा जीत लिया है इसलिए इस जगह न्यायसे तेरी ही विजय हुई है || ३२४|| तू अपने दृष्टिरूपी बाणोंके द्वारा जीते हुए इस जयकुमारको रत्नोंकी मालासे गलेमें बाँधकर अपने हाथमें कर, विजय - लक्ष्मी तेरी ही हो ।। ३२५ ।। इस प्रकार कामदेवके सन्धि विग्रह आदि छह गुणोंको जाननेवाले कंचुकीके वचन सुनकर धीरे-धीरे जिसकी लज्जा छूटती जा रही है, जिसकी लीलापूर्ण दृष्टि बड़ी चंचल है तथा उस समय जन्मान्तरका स्नेह नेत्रोंके द्वारा देखी

Bind this Jayakumar, whom you have conquered with your arrows of sight, with a garland of jewels around his neck and take him in your hand, victory-Lakshmi will be yours. || 325 ||
