कुलभृतामपि ॥ १२७ ॥
वा बिना ||१२||

बावरी' वृत्ति बलि मिश्रामिवाहरन्। जतायाः परो कोर्ट प्रभुरारोपितस्त्वया ।। १२३ ।। सत्यं दिग्विजयेची जितवानमरानिति । प्रत्येयमिदमेततु' चिम्यमत्र' ननु स्वया ।।१२४ ।। किं न दर्भशय्यायां नोपोषितोऽधरा प्रवृत्तो जलमायायां शरपातं समाचरन् ।।१२५|| कृत परिभ्रान्ति दण्डेनापतिशालिना । चटयन पायाने संकुलालायते वत ।। १२६ ।। आगः परागमातन्त्रन् स्वयमेष कलंकितः । चिरं कलंकयत्येष कुलं नृपानाको दूरान्मन्त्रैस्तप्रे योजितः । श्राप्यते कियदेतस्य रूपं दुनोतिनो भृशं वृत लाप्यतेऽस्व यदाहवः । दोलावितं जडे यस्य बलं बलैस्तदा ॥१२२॥ यशोधनमसंहार्य क्षत्रपुत्रेण रश्यताम्। निखनन्तीनिधी भूमी बहवो निधनं गताः ॥ १३० ॥ किमस्ति वा कृत्यं याम्यरनिमितां भुवम् । "न यान्ति यकृते पाप्ति केवलं निधनं नृपाः १३१ हुआ यह समस्त कार्य हम लोगोंको केवल वचनाडम्बर ही जान पड़ता है क्योंकि कहाँ तो इसका दिग्विजयका प्रारम्भ करना और कहाँ धन इकट्ठा करनेमें तत्पर होना ? || १२२ || जिस प्रकार भिक्षुक चक्र धारण कर भिक्षा मांगता हुआ अतिशय दीनताको प्राप्त होता है उसी प्रकार चक्रवर्तीको वृत्ति धारण कर भिक्षाके समान कर वसूल करता हुआ तेरा स्वामी भरत तेरे द्वारा दोनताकी परम सीमाको प्राप्त करा दिया गया है ।। १२३|| यह ठीक है कि चक्रवर्तीने दिग्विजयके समय देवोंको भी जीत लिया है परन्तु यह बात केवल विश्वास करने योग्य है अन्यथा तू यहाँ इतना तो विचार कर कि जलस्तम्भन करनेमें प्रवृत्त हुए तेरे स्वामी भरतने जब बाण छोड़ा था तब वह मेधा दर्भकी शय्यापर नहीं सोया था अथवा उसने उपवास नहीं किया था ।। १२४ - १२५ || जिस प्रकार कुम्हार आयति अर्थात् लम्बाईसे शोभायमान डण्डेके द्वारा चक्रको घुमाता हुआ पार्थिव अर्थात् मिट्टीके घट बनाता है उसी प्रकार भरत भी आयति अर्थात् सुन्दर भविष्यसे शोभायमान डण्डे ( दण्डरत्न ) से चक्र ( चक्ररत्न ) को घुमाता हुआ पार्थिव अर्थात् पृथिवीके स्वामी राजाओंको वश करता फिरता है, इसलिए कहना पड़ता है कि तुम्हारा यह राजा कुम्हारके समान आचरण करता है || १२६ ॥ वह भरत पापकी धूलिको उड़ाता हुआ स्वयं कलंकित हुआ है और कुलीन मनुष्योंके कुलको भी सदा के लिए कलंकित कर रहा है || १२७|| हे दूत, प्रयोग में लाये हुए मन्त्र तन्त्रोंके द्वारा दूरसे ही अनेक राजाओं को बुलानेवाले इस भरतका पराक्रम तू लज्जाके बिना कितना वर्णन कर रहा है ? ॥ १२८ ॥ हे दूत, जिस समय तू इसके युद्धको प्रशंसा करता है उस समय हम लोगोंको बहुत दुःख होता है क्योंकि उस समय म्लेच्छोंकी सेनाके द्वारा भरतको सेना पानी में हिंडोले झूल रही थी अर्थात् हिंडोलेके समान कँप रही थी ॥ १२९ ॥ क्षत्रियपुत्रको तो जिसे कोई हरण न कर सके ऐसे यशरूपी धनकी ही रक्षा करनी चाहिए क्योंकि इस पृथिवीमें निधियोंको भावार्थ - अमरता यशसे ही प्राप्त होती है। गाड़कर रखनेवाले अनेक लोग मर चुके हैं । ॥१३०॥ अथवा जो रत्न एक हाथ पृथिवी तक भी साथ नहीं जाते लोग केवल मृत्युको ही प्राप्त होते हैं ऐसे रत्नोंसे क्या निकल

**124-125.** It is true that the Chakravarti conquered even the gods during his Digvijaya, but this is only believable. Otherwise, you should consider this: when your master Bharata, who was engaged in stopping the flow of water, released an arrow, he was not sleeping on a bed of Darbha grass, nor was he fasting.

**126.** Just as a potter, using a long, beautiful stick, rotates the wheel and makes earthen pots, in the same way, Bharata, using a beautiful stick (Dandaratna), rotates the wheel (Chakra Ratna) and subjugates the kings of the earth.
