आदिपुराणम्
अथ संमुखमागत्य 'सानीकैर्नृपसत्तमैः । प्रत्यगृह्यत सेनानीः सज़यानकनिःस्वनम् ॥१४८॥ विभक्कतोरणामुच्चैः प्रचलत्केतुमालिकाम् । महावीथीमतिक्रम्य प्राविक्षत् स नृपालयम् ॥१४॥ तुरंगमवरादूरात् कृतावतरणः कृती । प्रभोपासनस्थस्य प्रापदास्थानमण्डपम् ॥१५०॥ दूरानतचलन्मौलिसंदष्टकरकुटुमलः । प्रणनाम प्रभुं सभ्यैर्वीक्ष्यमाणः सविस्मितैः ॥१५१॥ मुखरैर्जयकारेण म्लेच्छराजैः ससाध्वसम् । प्रणेमे प्रभुरभ्येत्य ललाटस्पृष्टभूतलैः ॥१५२॥ तदुपाहृत रत्नाद्यैर चयन्नुपढौकितैः । नामादेशं च तानस्मै प्रभवेऽसौ न्यवेदयत् ॥१५३॥ सप्रसादं च संमान्य सत्कृतास्ते महीभुजः । प्रमोरनुमताद् भूयः स्वमोकः प्रत्ययासिषुः ॥१५४॥ इत्थं पुण्योदयाच्चक्री बलात् प्रत्यन्तपालकान् । विजिग्ये दण्डमात्रेण जयः पुण्याहते कुतः ॥१५५॥
मालिनी अथ नृपतिसमाजेनार्चितः सानुरागं विजितसकलदुर्गः प्रयन् म्लेच्छनाथान् । पुनरपि विजयायायोजि सोऽग्रेसरत्वे जय इव जयचिह्नर्मानितो रत्नभा ॥१५६॥ जयति जिनवराणां शासनं यत्प्रसादात् पदमिदमधिराज्ञां प्राप्यते हेलयैव । समुचितनिधिरत्नप्राज्यभोगोपभोगप्रकटितसुखसारं भूरि संपत्प्रसारम् ॥१५७॥
का उपाय कर वह चक्रवर्तीकी छावनीमें वापस लौट आया ॥१४७।। सेनापतिके वहाँ पहुँचनेपर अनेक उत्तम-उत्तम राजाओंने अपनी सेनाओंके साथ सामने जाकर विजयसूचक नगाड़ोंके शब्दोंके साथ-साथ उसका स्वागत-सत्कार किया ।।१४८॥ जिसमें अनेक तोरण लगे हए हैं और जिसमें बहत ऊँची अनेक-पताकाओंके समह फहरा रहे हैं ऐसे राजमार्गको उल्लंघन कर वह सेनापति महाराज भरतके डेरेमें प्रविष्ट हुआ ॥१४९।। वह व्यवहार कुशल सेनापति दूरसे ही उत्तम घोड़ेपर-से उतर पड़ा और जहाँ महाराज भरत राजसिंहासनपर बैठे हुए थे उस सभामण्डपमें जा पहुँचा ॥१५०॥ दूरसे ही झुके हुए चंचल मुकुटपर जिसने अपने दोनों हाथ जोड़कर रखे हैं और सभासद् लोग जिसे आश्चर्यके साथ देख रहे हैं ऐसे सेनापतिने महाराज भरतको नमस्कार किया ॥१५१॥ जिन्होंने अपने ललाटसे पृथिवीतलका स्पर्श किया है और जो जयजय शब्द करनेसे वाचालित हो रहे हैं ऐसे म्लेच्छ राजाओंने भयसहित सामने आकर भरतको नमस्कार किया ॥१५२।। उन म्लेच्छ राजाओंके द्वारा उपहारमें लाये हुए रत्न आदिको सामने रखकर सेनापतिने महाराज भरतसे नाम ले लेकर सबका परिचय कराया ॥१५३।। महाराजने प्रसन्नताके साथ सन्मान करके उन सब राजाओंका सत्कार किया, तदनन्तर वे राजा महाराजकी अनुमतिसे अपने-अपने स्थानपर वापस चले गये ॥१५४।। इस प्रकार चक्रवर्तीने पुण्य कर्मके उदयसे केवल दण्डरत्नके द्वारा हो म्लेच्छ राजाओंको जबरदस्ती जीत लिया था सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि पुण्यके बिना विजय कहाँसे हो सकती है ? ॥१५५॥
अथानन्तर-अनेक राजाओंके समूहने प्रेमपूर्वक जिसका सत्कार किया है, जिसने सब किले जीत लिये हैं, जिसने म्लेच्छ राजाओंको नम्रीभूत किया है, जो साक्षात् विजयके सामान सुशोभित हो रहा है और विजयके चिह्नोंसे जिसका सन्मान किया गया है ऐसे उस सेनापतिको रत्नोंके स्वामी भरत महाराजने विजय प्राप्त करनेके लिए फिर भी प्रधान सेनापतिके पदपर नियुक्त किया ।।१५६॥ योग्य निधियाँ, रत्न तथा उत्कृष्ट भोग-उपभोगकी वस्तुओं
१ ससैन्यैः । २ तन्म्लेच्छराजेभ्य आहृत । ३ पूजयन् । ४ प्रभोः समीपं नीतैः । ५ नामोद्देशम् । ६ म्लेच्छराजान् । ७ निजावासं संप्रतिजग्मुः । ८ म्लेच्छराजान् 'प्रत्यन्तो म्लेच्छदेशः स्यादित्यभिधानात् ।

Then, with the lord's permission, they returned to their own places. ||154|| Thus, the Chakravarti, by the rise of his virtuous deeds, had conquered the Mlechcha kings by force, using only the weapon of justice. Then, the commander, who had been honored by the assembly of kings, who had conquered all the forts, who had humbled the Mlechcha kings, who was adorned with the insignia of victory, and who was honored with the signs of victory, was appointed by the lord Bharat, the master of jewels, to the post of commander-in-chief for further victory. ||156|| The rule of the Jina-varas is victorious, for by their grace, this position of authority is obtained with ease. It is a treasure of wealth, a kingdom, and the enjoyment of pleasures, revealing the essence of happiness, and a vast spread of wealth. ||157||
