एकत्रिशत्तमं पर्व जाता वयं चिरादद्य सनाथा इत्युदाशिषः' । केचिच्चक्रधरस्याज्ञामशठा प्रत्यपत्सत ॥१३७॥ संधिविग्रहयानादिषाडगुण्यकृतविक्रमाः । बलात् प्रमाणिताः केचिद् ऐश्वर्यलवदूषिताः ॥१३८॥ कांश्चिदुर्गाश्रितान् म्लेच्छानवस्कन्दनिरोधनैः । सेनानीर्वशमानिन्ये नमत्यज्ञोऽधिकं क्षतः ॥१३६॥ केचिद् बलैरकष्टब्धा स्तत्पीडां सोढुमक्षमाः,। शासने चक्रिणस्तस्थुः स्नेहो नापीलितात् खलात् ॥१४०॥ इत्युपायैरुपायज्ञः साधयन्म्लेच्छभूभुजः । तेभ्यः कन्यादिरत्नानि प्रभो ग्यान्युपाहरत् ॥ १४१॥ . धर्मकर्मबहिर्भूता इत्यमी म्लेच्छका मताः । अन्यथाऽन्यैः समाचारैरार्यावर्तन ते समाः ॥१४२॥ इति प्रसाध्य तां भूमिमभूमि धर्मकर्मणाम् । म्लेच्छराजबलैः सार्धं सेनानीयवृतत् पुनः ॥१४३॥ रराज राजराजस्य साश्वरत्नचमूपतिः । सिद्धदिग्विजयी जैनः प्रताप इव मूर्तिमान् ॥१४४॥ सतोरणामतिक्रम्य स सिन्धोर्वनवेदिकाम् । विगाढश्च ससोपानां रूप्यास्तटवेदिकाम् ॥१४५॥ आरूढो जगतीमद्रव्यूंढोरस्को"महाभुजः । षड्भिर्मासैः प्रशान्तोष्म सोऽध्यवासीद् गुहामुखम् ॥१४६॥
तत्रासीनश्च संशोध्य बह्वपायं गुहोहरम् । कृतारक्षाविधिः सम्यक प्रत्यायाच्छिबिरं"प्रभोः ॥१४७॥ 'आज हम लोग बहुत दिनमें सनाथ हुए हैं इसलिए जोर-जोरसे आशीर्वाद देते हुए कितने ही बुद्धिमान् लोगोंने चक्रवर्तीको आज्ञा स्वीकृत की थी ॥१३७॥ जिन्होंने सन्धि, विग्रह और यान आदि छह गुणोंमें अपना पराक्रम दिखाया था और जो थोड़े-से ही ऐश्वर्यसे उन्मत्त हो गये थे ऐसे कितने ही राजाओंसे सेनापतिने जबरदस्ती प्रणाम कराया था ॥१३८॥ किलेके भीतर रहनेवाले कितने ही म्लेच्छ राजाको सेनापतिने उनका चारों ओरसे आवागमन रोककर वश किया था सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि अज्ञानी लोग अधिक दुःखी किये जानेपर ही नम्रोभूत होते हैं ॥१३९॥ कितने ही राजा लोग सेनाओंके द्वारा घिरकर उससे उत्पन्न हुए दुःखको सहन करनेके लिए असमर्थ हो चक्रवर्तीके शासनमें स्थित हुए थे, सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि बिना पेले खल अर्थात् खलीसे स्नेह अर्थात् तेल उत्पन्न नहीं होता ( पक्षमें बिना दुःखी किये हुए खल अर्थात् दुर्जनसे स्नेह अर्थात् प्रेम उत्पन्न नहीं होता) ॥१४०॥ इस प्रकार उपायोंको जाननेवाले सेनापतिने अनेक उपायोंके द्वारा म्लेच्छ राजाओंको वश किया और उनसे चक्रवर्तीके उपभोगके योग्य कन्या आदि अनेक रत्न भेंटमें लिये ॥१४१॥ ये लोग धर्मक्रियाओंसे रहित हैं इसलिए म्लेच्छ माने गये हैं, धर्मक्रियाओंके सिवाय अन्य आचरणोंसे आर्यखण्डमें उत्पन्न होनेवाले लोगोंके समान हैं ॥१४२॥ इस प्रकार वह सेनापति, धर्मक्रियाओंसे रहित उस म्लेच्छभूमिको वश कर म्लेच्छराजाओंकी सेनाके साथ फिर वापस लौटा ॥१४३॥ जिसने दिग्विजय कर लिया है, सबको जीतना ही जिसका स्वभाव है, और जो अश्वरत्नसे सहित है ऐसा वह राजाधिराज भरतका सेनापति ऐसा सुशोभित हो रहा था मानो मूर्तिमान् प्रताप ही हो ॥१४४॥ तोरणोंसहित सिन्धु नदीके वनकी वेदीको उल्लंघन कर वह सेनापति सीढ़ियोंसहित विजया पर्वतके वनकी वेदीपर जा चढ़ा ॥१४५॥ जिसका वक्षःस्थल बहुत बड़ा है और जिसकी भुजाएं बहुत लम्बी हैं ऐसा वह सेनापति पर्वतकी वेदिकापर चढ़कर छह महीनेमें जिसकी गरमी शान्त हो गयी है ऐसी गुफाके द्वारपर ठहर गया ॥१४६॥ वहाँ ठहरकर उसने अनेक विघ्नोंसे भरे हुए गुफाके भीतरी भागको शुद्ध (साफ) कराया और फिर अच्छी तरहसे उसकी रक्षा
१ उद्गताशीर्वचनाः । २ निष्कपटवृत्तयो भूत्वा । ३ अङ्गीकारं कृतवन्तः । ४ धाटीनिरोधनैः । निग्रहस्तु निरोधः स्याद्' इत्यमरः । अभ्यासाधनात्मकनिग्रहः। उक्तं च विदग्धचूडामणौ 'अभ्यवस्कन्दनं त्वभ्यासाधनम्' (घेरेका नाम )। ५ अधिकं पीड़ितो भूत्वा । ६ वेष्टिताः । ७ विवाहादिभिः । ८ पुण्यभूम्या आर्याखण्डेनेत्यर्थः । 'आर्यावर्तः पुण्यभूमिः' इत्यभिधानात् । ९ अस्थानम् । १० प्रविष्टः । ११ विशालवक्षस्थलः । १२ तस्थौ । १३ गुहाद्वारम् । १४ स्कन्धावार प्रत्यगात् ।
