आदिपुराणम् महामतिर्महानीतिर्महाक्षान्तिर्महादयः । महाप्राज्ञो महामागो महानन्दो महाकविः ॥१५३॥ महामहा महाकीर्तिमहाकान्तिर्महावपुः । महादानो महाज्ञानो महायोगो महागुणः ॥१५४॥ महामहपतिः प्राप्तमहाकल्याणपन्चकः । महाप्रभुमहापातिहार्याधीशो महेश्वरः ।।१५५॥
इति श्रीवृक्षादिशतम् । महामुनिमहामौनी महाध्यानो महादमः । महाक्षमो महाशीलो महायज्ञो महामखः ॥१५६॥ महाव्रतपतिर्मयो महाकान्तिधरोऽधिपः । महामैत्रीमयोऽमेयो महोपायो महोमयः ॥१५७॥ महाकारुणिको मन्तां महामन्त्रो महायतिः । महानादो महाघोषो महेज्यो महसां पतिः ॥१५॥
कहे जाते हैं ॥ १५२ ॥ अतिशय बुद्धिमान हैं इसलिए महामति ४८० कहलाते हैं, अतिशय न्यायवान हैं इसलिए महानीति ४८१ कहे जाते हैं, अतिशय क्षमावान हैं इसलिए महाक्षान्ति ४८२ माने जाते है, अतिशय दयालु हैं इसलिए महादय ४८३ कहलाते है, अत्यन्त विवेकवान् होनेसे महाप्राज्ञ ४८४, अत्यन्त भाग्यशाली होनेसे महाभाग ४८५, अत्यन्त आनन्द होनेसे महानन्द ४८६ और सर्वश्रेष्ठ कवि होनेसे महाकवि ४८७ माने जाते हैं ॥१५३।। अत्यन्त तेजस्वी होनेसे महामहा ४८८, विशाल कीर्तिके धारक होनेसे महाकीर्ति ४८९, अद्भुत कान्तिसे युक्त होनेके कारण महाकान्ति ४९०, उत्तुंग शरीरके होनेसे महावपु ४६१, बड़े दानी होनेसे महादान ४९२, केवलज्ञानी होनेसे महाज्ञान ४१३, बड़े ध्यानी होनेसे महायोग ४९४ और बड़े-बड़े गुणोंके धारक होनेसे महागुण ४९५ कहलाते हैं ॥१५४|| आप अनेक बड़े-बड़े उत्सवोंके स्वामी हैं इसलिए महामहपति ४९६ कहलाते हैं, आपने गर्भ आदि पाँच महाकल्याणको प्राप्त किया है इसलिए प्राप्तमहाकल्याणपंचक ४९७ कहे जाते हैं, आप सबसे बड़े स्वामी हैं इसलिए महाप्रभु ४९८ कहलाते हैं, अशोकवृक्ष आदि आठ महाप्रातिहार्योंके स्वामी हैं इसलिए महाप्रातिहार्याधीश ४९९ कहे जाते हैं और आप सब देवोंके अधीश्वर हैं इसलिए महेश्वर ५०० कहलाते हैं ॥१५५॥
सब मुनियोंमें उत्तम होनेसे महामुनि ५०१, वचनालापरहित होनेसे महामौनी ५०२, शुक्लध्यानका ध्यान करनेसे महाध्यान ५०३, अतिशय जितेन्द्रिय होनेसे महादम ५०४, अतिशय समर्थ अथवा शान्त होनेसे महाक्षम ५०५, उत्तमशीलसे युक्त होनेके कारण महाशील ५०६ और तपश्चरणरूपी अग्निमें कर्मरूपी हविके होम करनेसे महायज्ञ ५०७ और अतिशय पूज्य होनेके कारण महामख ५०८ कहलाते हैं ॥१५६॥ पाँच महाव्रतोंके स्वामी होनेसे महाव्रतपति ५०६, जगत्पूज्य होनेसे मह्य ५१०, विशाल कान्तिके धारक होनेसे महाकान्तिधर ५११, सबके स्वामी होनेसे अधिप ५१२, सब जीवोंके साथ मैत्रीभाव रखनेसे महामैत्रीमय ५१३, अपरिमित गुणोंके धारक होनेसे अमेय ५१४, मोक्षके उत्तमोत्तम उपायोंसे सहित होनेके कारण महोपाय ५१५ और तेजःस्वरूप होनेसे महोमय ५१६ कहलाते हैं ।।१५७।। अत्यन्त दयालु होनेसे महाकारुणिक ५१७, सब पदार्थोंको जाननेसे मन्ता ५१८, अनेक मन्त्रोंके स्वामी होनेसे महामन्त्र ५१६, यतियोंमें श्रेष्ठ होनेसे महायति ५२०, गम्मीर दिव्यध्वनिके धारक होनेसे महानाद ५२१, दिव्यध्वनिका गम्भीर उच्चारण होनेके कारण महाघोष ५२२, बड़ी-बड़ी पूजाओंके अधिकारी होनेसे महेज्य ५२३ और समस्त तेज अथवा प्रतापके स्वामी होनेसे महसांपति ५२४ कहलाते
