आदिपुराणम् सरस्तटं कलरुतसारसाकुलं वनद्विप विशति सितच्छदावली । नभोभिया समुपगतात्र लक्ष्यते नमः श्रियः पृथुतरहारयष्टिवत् ॥१२२॥ क्वचिद्धरिम्म णितटरोचिषां चयैः परिष्कृतं वपुरिह तिग्मदीधितेः । सरोजिनी हरितपलाश शङ्कया नमश्चरैल्पतटमीक्ष्यते मुहुः ॥१२३॥ क्वचिदनद्विरदकपोलघट्टनैः क्षतस्वचो वनतरवः सरस्तटे। . रुदन्ति"नु च्युतकुसुमाश्रुविन्दवो निलीनषट्पदकरुणस्वरान्विताम् ॥१२४..... इतः कलं कमलवनेषु स्यते मदोधुरध्वनिकलहंससारसैः । इतश्च कोकिलकलनादमूञ्छित मनोहरं शिखिविरुतं प्रतायते ॥१२५॥ इतः शरद्घनघनकालमेघयोर्यरच्छया वन इव संनिधिर्भवन् । मुखोन्मुखप्रहितकरः प्रवर्तते सितासितद्विरदनयोरयं रणः ॥१२६॥ वनस्थलीमनिलविलोकितनुमामिमामितः कुसुमरजोऽवगुण्ठिताम्। भलक्षिता मधिगम यत्यलिबजः समावजन् परिमललोलुपोऽमितः ॥१२॥ इतो वनं वनगजयूयसेवितं विमाग्यते मदजलसिक्तपादपम् । समापतन्मदकलभृजमालिकासमाकुलद्रुम लतमन्तरा न्तरा ॥१२॥
हो ॥१२॥ इधर, मनोहर शब्द करते हुए सारस पक्षियोंसे व्याप्त तालाबोंके किनारोंपर ये जंगली हाथी प्रवेश कर रहे हैं जिससे ये हंसोंकी पंक्तियाँ श्रावण मासके डरसे आकाशमें उड़ी जा रही हैं और ऐसी दिखाई देती हैं मानो आकाशरूपी लक्ष्मीके हारकी लड़ियाँ ही हों॥१२२।। इधर यह सूर्यका बिम्ब हरे-हरे मणियोंके बने हुए किनारोंकी कान्तिके समूहसे आच्छादित हो गया है इसलिए ये विद्याधर इसे कमलिनीका हरा पत्ता समझकर पर्वतके इसी किनारेकी ओर वार-बार देखते हैं ॥१२३।। कहींपर सरोवरके किनारे जंगली हाथियोंके कपोलोंकी रगड़से जिनकी छाल गिर गयी है ऐसे वनके वृक्ष ऐसे जान पड़ते हैं मानो फूलरूपी आँसुओंकी बूंदें डालते हुए और उनके भीतर वैठे हुए भ्रमरोंकी गुंजारके बहाने करुणाजनक शब्द करते हुए रोही रहे हों ॥१२४॥ इधर कमलवनोंमें मदके कारण जिनके शब्द उत्कट हो गये हैं ऐसे कलहंस और सारस पक्षी मधुर शब्द कर रहे हैं और इधर कोयलोंके मनोहर शब्दोंसे बढ़ा हुआ मयरोंका मनोहर शब्द विस्तृत हो रहा है ।।१२५।। इधर इस बनमें शरद्ऋतुके-से सफेद बादल और वर्षाऋतुके से काले बादल स्वेच्छासे मिल रहे हैं और ऐसे जान पड़ते हैं मानो सफेद
और काले दो हाथी एक-दूसरेके मुँहके सामने सूंड चलाते हुए युद्ध ही कर रहे हों ॥१२६।। इधर वायुसे जिसके वृक्ष हिल रहे हैं और जो फूलोंकी परागसे बिलकुल ढकी हुई है ऐसी यह वनको भूमि यद्यपि दिखाई नहीं दे रही है तथापि सुगन्धिका लोलुपी और चारों ओरसे आता हुआ यह भ्रमरोंका समूह इसे दिखला रहा है ॥१२७। इधर, जो अनेक जंगली हाथियों के झुण्डोंसे सेवित है जिसके वृक्ष उन हाथियोंके मदरूपी जलसे सींचे गये हैं और जिसके वृक्ष तथा लताएँ बीच-बीच में पड़ते हुए और मदसे मनोहर शब्द करते हुए भ्रमरोंके समूहसे व्याप्त
