________________ अष्टादशं पर्व ५ ११ अथ कार्य समुत्सृज्य तपोयोगे समाहितः । वाचंयमस्वमास्थाय तस्थां विश्वे विमुक्तये ॥३॥ उषण्मासानशनं धीरः प्रतिज्ञाय महाष्टति: । "योगेकाग्यूनिरुद्धान्त हिष्करण विक्रियः ॥२॥ वितस्त्यन्तरपादाग्रं 'तत्वयंशान्त रपाष्णिकम् । सममृज्वागतं स्थानमास्थाय रचितस्थितिः ॥३॥ कठिनेऽपि शिलापट्टे न्यस्तपादपयोरुहः । लक्ष्म्योपडौकितं " गूढमास्थितः पद्मविष्टरम् ||४|| किमप्यन्तर्गतं जल्पन्नव्य क्ताक्षरमक्षरः । निगूढनिर्झराराव गुब्जद्गुह इवाचलः ||५|| सुप्रसन्नोज्ज्वलां मूर्ति प्रलम्बितभुजद्वयाम् । श्रमस्येव परां मूर्ति दधानो ध्यानसिद्धये ॥ ६ ॥ शिरः शिरोरुहापायात् सुव्यक्तपरिमण्डलम् । रोचि 'रेणूष्णीषमुष्णांशुमण्डलस्पद्धिं धारयन् ॥७॥ अभ्र मङ्गमपापाङ्ग वीक्षणं स्तिमितेक्षणम्" । विभ्राणो मुखमक्लिष्टं सुश्लिष्टदशनच्छम् ॥८॥ सुगन्धिमुखनिःश्वासगन्धाहूतैरलित्रजैः । बहिर्निष्कासिताशुद्ध' 'लेश्यांशैरिव लक्षितः ॥ ९ ॥ 93 अथानन्तर समस्त लोकके अधिपति भगवान् वृषभदेव शरीरसे ममत्व छोड़कर तथा तपोयोगमें सावधान हो मौन धारणकर मोक्षप्राप्तिके लिए स्थित हुए ||१|| योगोंकी एकाग्रता'जिन्होंने मन तथा बाह्य इन्द्रियोंके समस्त विकार रोक दिये हैं ऐसे धीर-वीर महासन्तोपी भगवान् छह महीने के उपवासकी प्रतिज्ञा कर स्थित हुए थे ||२|| वे भगवान् सम, सीधी और लम्बी जगहमें कायोत्सर्ग धारण कर खड़े हुए थे। उस समय उनके दोनों पैरोंके अग्र भाग में एक वितस्ति अर्थात् बारह अंगुलका और एड़ियों में चार अंगुलका अन्तर था ||३|| वे भगवान् कठिन शिलापर भी अपने चरणकमल रखकर इस प्रकार खड़े हुए थे मानो लक्ष्मीके द्वारा लाकर रखे हुए गुप्त पद्मासनपर ही खड़े हों || ४ || वे अक्षर अर्थात् अविनाशी भगवान् भीतर-ही-भीतर अस्पष्ट अक्षरोंसे कुछ पाठ पढ़ रहे थे जिससे ऐसे मालूम होते थे मानो जिसकी गुफाएँ भीतर छिपे हुए निर्झरनोंके शब्दसे गूंज रही हैं ऐसा कोई पर्वत ही हो ||५|| जिसमें दोनों भुजाएँ नीचे की ओर लटक रही हैं ऐसी अत्यन्त प्रसन्न और उज्ज्वल मूर्तिको धारण करते हुए वे भगवान् ऐसे मालूम होते थे मानो ध्यानकी सिद्धिके लिए प्रशमगुणकी उत्कृष्ट मूर्ति ही धारण कर रहे हों ||६|| केशोंका लोंच हो जानेसे जिसका गोल परिमण्डल अत्यन्त स्पष्ट दिखाई पड़ रहा था, जिसका ब्रह्मद्वार अतिशय देदीप्यमान था और जो सूर्य के मण्डलके साथ स्पर्द्धा कर रहा था, ऐसे शिरको वे भगवान् धारण किये हुए थे ||७|| जो भौंहोंके भंग और कटाक्ष अवलोकनसे रहित था, जिसके नेत्र अत्यन्त निश्चल थे और ओठ खेदरहित तथा मिले हुए थे ऐसे सुन्दर मुखको भगवान् धारण किये हुए थे ||८|| उनके मुखपर सुगन्धित निःश्वासकी सुगन्धसे जो भ्रम के समूह उड़ रहे थे वे ऐसे मालूम होते थे मानो अशुद्ध (कृष्ण नील १. मौनित्वम् । २. आश्रित्य । ३. पड्मासा - ब० । ४. सन्तोषः । ५. ध्यानान्यवृत्तिप्रतिबन्धितमनइचक्षुरादीन्द्रियव्यापारः । ६. बहिःकरण - ब० अ०, प० । ७. द्वादशाङ्गुलान्तर । 'वितस्तिर्द्वादशाङ्गुलम्' इत्यभिधानात् । ८. चतुरङ्गुलान्तर । ९ आश्रित्य । १०. उपनीतम् । ११. नित्यः । १२. प्रकाशनशीलम् । १३. उष्णीषो नाम ब्रह्मद्वारस्थो ग्रन्थिविशेषः । 'भाग्यातिशयसम्भूतिज्ञापनं मस्तकाग्रजम् । तेजोमण्डलमुष्णीषमामनन्ति मनीषिणः । १४. अपगतकटाक्षेक्षणम् । १५. स्थिरदष्टिम् । १६. कृष्णाद्यशुभलेश्या ।
