३२१ वपुषो वृद्धिमन्वस्य गुणा ववृधिरे विभाः । शशाङ्कमण्डलस्येव कान्तिदीप्त्यादयोऽन्त्रहम् ॥१७॥॥ वपुः कान्तं प्रिया वाणी मधुरं तस्य वीक्षितम् । जगतः प्रोतिमातेनुः सस्मितं च प्रजल्पितम्। १७६। कला सकलास्तस्य वृद्धौ वृद्विमुपाययुः । इन्दोरिव जगञ्चेतो नन्दनस्य जगत्पतेः ॥१७॥ मतिश्रते सहोरपने ज्ञानं चावधिसंज्ञकम् । ततोऽबोधि स निश्शेषा विद्या लोकस्थितीरपि ॥१७८॥ विश्वविद्येश्वरस्यास्य विद्या: परिणताः स्वयम् । ननु जन्मान्तराभ्यासः स्मृति पुष्णाति पुष्कलाम् ।१७९। कलास कौशलं श्लाघ्यं विश्वविद्यासु पाटबम् । क्रियासु कर्मठत्वं च स भेजे शिक्षया विना ॥१८॥ "वाङ्मयं सकलं तस्य प्रत्यक्षं वाक्प्रमोरभूत । "येन विश्वस्य लोकस्य "वाचस्पत्यादभूद् गुरुः॥१८॥ पुराणः स कविर्वाग्मी गमकवेति "नोच्यते । कोवुयादयो बोधा येन तस्य निसर्गजाः ॥१८॥ क्षायिक दर्शनं तस्य चेतोऽमलमपाहरत् । वाग्मलं च निसर्गेण प्रसृतास्य सरस्वती ॥१८॥ श्रुतं निसर्गतोऽस्यासीत् प्रसूतः प्रशमः श्रुतात् । ततो जगद्वितास्यासीत् चेष्टा सापालयत् प्रजाः।१८४। यथा यथास्य वन्ते गुणांशा वपुषा समम् । तथा तथास्य जनता बन्धुता चागमन्मुदम् ॥१८५॥
हो गया ॥१७४।। जिस प्रकार चन्द्रमण्डलकी वृद्धिके साथ-साथ ही उसके कान्ति, दीप्ति आदि अनेक गुण प्रतिदिन बढ़ते जाते हैं उसी प्रकार भगवान के शरीरकी वृद्धिके साथ-साथ ही अनेक गुण प्रतिदिन बढ़ते जाते थे ।।१७५।। उस समय उनका मनोहर शरीर, प्यारी बोली, मनोहर अवलोकन और मुसकाते हुए बातचीत करना यह सब संसारकी प्रीतिको विस्तृत कर रहे थे ॥१७६।। जिस प्रकार जगत्के मनको हर्पित करनेवाले चन्द्रमाकी वृद्धि होनेपर उसकी समस्त कलाएँ बढ़ने लगती हैं उसी प्रकार समस्त जीवोंके हृदयको आनन्द देनेवाले जगत्पतिभगवान के शरीरकी वृद्धि होनेपर उनकी समस्त कलाएँ बढ़ने लगी थीं ।।१७।। मति, श्रुत और अवधि ये तीनों ही ज्ञान भगवान के साथ-साथ ही उत्पन्न हुए थे इसलिए उन्होंने समस्त विद्याओं और लोककी स्थितिको अच्छी तरह जान लिया था॥ १७८ ॥ वे भगवान समस्त विद्याओंके ईश्वर थे इसलिए उन्हें समस्त विद्याएँ अपने-आप ही प्राप्त हो गयी थीं सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि जन्मान्तरका अभ्यास स्मरण-शक्तिको अत्यन्त पुष्ट रखता है ॥१७९।। वे भगवान शिक्षाके बिना ही समस्त कलाओंमें प्रशंसनीय कुशालताको, समस्त विद्याओंमें प्रशंसनीय चतुराईको और समस्त क्रियाओं में प्रशंसनीय कर्मठता (कार्य करनेकी सामर्थ्य ) को प्राप्त हो गये थे ॥ १८० ॥ वे भगवान् सरस्वतीके एकमात्र स्वामी थे इसलिए उन्हें समस्त वाङ्मय (शास्त्र) प्रत्यक्ष हो गये थे और इसलिए वे समस्त लोकके गुरु हो गये थे ॥ १८१ ॥ वे भगवान् पुराण थे अर्थात् प्राचीन इतिहासके जानकार थे, कवि थे, उत्तम वक्ता थे, गमक (टीका आदिके द्वारा पदार्थको स्पष्ट करनेवाले) थे और सबको प्रिय थे क्योंकि कोष्टबुद्धि आदि अनेक विद्याएँ उन्हें स्वभावसे ही प्राप्त हो गयी थीं ॥१८२॥ उनके क्षायिक सम्यग्दर्शनने उनके चित्तके समस्त मलको दूर कर दिया था और स्वभावसे ही विस्तारको प्राप्त हुई सरस्वतीने उनके वचनसम्बन्धी समस्त दोषोंका अपहरण कर लिया था ॥ १८३ ॥ उन भगवानके स्वभावसे ही शास्त्रज्ञान था, उस शास्त्रज्ञानसे उनके परिणाम बहुत ही शान्त रहते थे। परिणामोंके शान्त रहनेसे उनकी चेष्टाएँ जगत्का हित करनेवाली होती थी और उन जगत्-हितकारी चेष्टाओंसे वे प्रजाका पालन करते थे ॥ १८४ ॥ ज्यों-ज्यों शरीरके साथ-साथ उनके गुण

176. Just as the moon's growth brings about the growth of all its arts, so too did the growth of the Lord's body, the delight of the world, bring about the growth of all his arts.
177. The three knowledges of mati, shruta, and avadhi were born with the Lord, and therefore he knew all the sciences and the state of the world perfectly.
178. He was the Lord of all knowledge, and therefore all knowledge came to him naturally. This is right, because the practice of past lives nourishes memory greatly.
179. Without any education, he possessed praiseworthy skill in all arts, praiseworthy cleverness in all sciences, and praiseworthy diligence (ability to work) in all actions.
180. He was the sole master of Saraswati, and therefore all scriptures (shastra) were revealed to him, and therefore he became the teacher of all the worlds.
181. He was a purana, that is, a knower of ancient history, a poet, an excellent speaker, a gamaka (one who clarifies the meaning of things through commentary, etc.), and beloved by all, because he was born with many qualities like intelligence, etc.
182. His क्षायिक samyag darshan removed all the impurities from his mind, and Saraswati, who had naturally spread her influence, removed all the defects in his speech.
183. He had scriptural knowledge by nature, and his actions were very peaceful because of that scriptural knowledge. Because his actions were peaceful, his efforts were for the benefit of the world, and through those world-benefiting efforts, he protected the people.
