आदिपुराणम्
युवामेव महाभागौ युवां कल्याणभागिनी । युवयोर्न तुला लोके युवामधि गुरोर्गुरु ॥८०॥ भो नाभिराज सत्यं त्वमुद्द्याद्विर्महोदयः । देवी प्राच्येव यज्ज्योति युष्मसः परमुवमौ ॥ ८१ ॥ देवधिष्ण्यमिवागारमि दमाराध्यमद्य वाम् । पूज्यौ युवां च नः शश्वत् पितरौ जगतां पितुः ॥८२॥ इत्यभिष्टुत्य तौ देवमर्पयित्वा च तस्करे । शताध्वरः क्षणं तस्थौ कुर्वस्तामेव संकथाम् ॥ ८३ ॥ तौ शक्रेण यथावृत्तमावेदितजिनोत्सवौ । प्रमदस्य परां कोटिमारूठौ विस्मयस्य च ॥ ८४ ॥ जातकर्मो सवं भूयश्चक्रतुस्तौ शतक्रतोः' । लब्ध्वानुमतिमिद्धदुर्ध्या समं पौरैर्धृतोत्सवैः ॥८५॥---सा केतुमालिकाकोर्णा "पुरी " साकेतलाइया । तदासीत् स्वर्गमाहातु " सा कूतेवान्तकौतुका ॥ ८६ ॥ पुरी स्वर्गपुरीवासी समाः पोरा दिवौकसाम् । "तदा संधृत नेपथ्याः पुरनार्योऽप्सरः समाः ॥८७॥ धूपामोदैर्दिशो रुद्धा: पटवासैस्ततं" नमः । संगीतमुरव' 'ध्वानैर्दिक्चक्रं बधिरीकृतम् ॥८८॥ पुरवीथ्यस्तदाभूवन् रत्नचूर्णैरलंकृताः । निरुद्धातपसंपाताः प्रचलस्केतनांशुकैः ॥ ८९ ॥ चलत्पताकमाबद्धतोरणाश्चितगोपुरम् । कृतोपशोममारब्धसंगीतरवरुद्ध दिकू ॥ ९० ॥

कि आप दोनों पुण्यरूपी धनसे सहित हैं तथा बड़े ही धन्य हैं क्योंकि समस्त लोकमें श्रेष्ठ पुत्र आपके ही हुआ है ।।७९।। इस संसारमें आप दोनों ही महाभाग्यशाली हैं, आप दोनों ही अनेक कल्याणोंको प्राप्त होनेवाले हैं और लोकमें आप दोनोंकी बराबरी करनेवाला कोई नहीं है, क्योंकि आप जगत्के गुरुके भी गुरु अर्थात् माता-पिता हैं ॥८०॥ हे नाभिराज, सच है कि आप ऐश्वर्यशाली उदयाचल हैं और रानी मरुदेवी पूर्व दिशा है क्योंकि यह पुत्ररूपी परम ज्योति आपसे ही उत्पन्न हुई है || ८१|| आज आपका यह घर हम लोगोंके लिए जिनालयके समान पूज्य है और आप जगत्पिताके भी माता-पिता हैं इसलिए हम लोगेकि सदा पूज्य हैं ॥ ८२ ॥ इस प्रकार इन्द्रने माता-पिताकी स्तुति कर उनके हाथोंमें भगवान्को सौंप दिया और फिर उन्हींके जन्माभिषेककी उत्तम कथा कहता हुआ वह क्षण-भर वहींपर खड़ा रहा ||८३|| इन्द्र के द्वारा जन्माभिषेककी सब कथा मालूम कर माता-पिता दोनों ही हर्ष और आश्चर्यकी अन्तिम सीमापर आरूढ़ हुए ॥ ८४॥ माता-पिताने इन्द्रकी अनुमति प्राप्त कर अनेक उत्सव करनेवाले पुरवासी लोगोंके साथ-साथ बड़ी विभूतिसे भगवान्‌का फिर भी जन्मोत्सव किया ||८५|| उस समय पताकाओंकी पङक्तिसे भरी हुई वह अयोध्यानगरी ऐसी मालूम होती थी मानो कौतुक स्वर्गको बुलानेके लिए इशारा ही कर रही हो ||८६ | उस समय वह अयोध्या नगरी स्वर्गपुरीके समान मालूम होती थी, नगरवासी लोग देवोंके तुल्य जान पड़ते थे और अनेक वस्त्राभूषण धारण किये हुई नगरनिवासिनी स्त्रियाँ अप्सराओंके समान जान पड़ती थीं ||७|| धूपकी सुगन्धिसे सब दिशाएँ भर गयी थीं, सुगन्धित चूर्णसे आकाश व्याप्त हो गया था और संगीत तथा मृदंगोंके शब्दसे समस्त दिशाएँ बहरी हो गयी थीं ॥ ८८ ।। उस समय नगरको सब गलियाँ रत्नोंके चूर्ण से अलंकृत हो रही थीं और हिलती हुई पताकाओंके वस्त्रोंसे उनमें धूपका आना रुक गया था ||८९|| उस समय उस नगर में सब स्थानोंपर पताकाएँ हिल रही थीं ( फहरा रही थीं) जिससे ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो वह नगर नृत्य ही कर रहा हो । उसके गोपुर- दरवाजे बँधे हुए तोरणों से शोभायमान हो रहे थे जिससे ऐसा मालूम होता था मानो वह अपने मुखकी सुन्दरता ही दिखला रहा हो, जगह-जगह वह नगर सजाया गया
