( ૧૫ ) કટિવર્ષને હાલમાં બાણગઢ કહે છે અને તે બંગાળમાં દીનાજપુર જીલ્લામાં આવેલ છે. ગુજરાતના લાટ દેશની રાજધાની ઈલાપુર હતું. ભરૂચ પણ એ દેશની રાજધાની કેટલોક સમય હતું.
લાટનાં પાટનગર ઉપરાંત, લાટના સંબંધમાં નિમ્ન પ્રમાણ ખાસ જાણવા જેવું છે –
From the legend, we have seen that, Vijaya and his followers from Lala remained for some time, in Supparaka and Bharukaccha. Some of his followers must have remained there as setteers. It is possible that, it was they who gave the name of their old .country (Ladha ) to this region, which later on came to bear the name of Lata, perhaps a later corruption of Lala.
