(1) an article describing the suffering of gold fish was published in the "Little Animals' Friend" London May 1919. As stated therein.
"Half the poor little gold fish which people cruelly keep in clear glass globes die from nothing but fight and fatigue, after swimming round and round their prison till they are worn out"
(2) An Article headed “The Torture of gold-fish” was published in the little Animals' San Francisco California, December 1922. As stated therein
“Cruelty is sometimes practised all unknowingly by the most kind-hearted people. The dealers hare the globes on Sale-yes, for they are in demand-being cheap and profitable for the dealer because the fish soon perish and there is, therefore a constant demand for fresh ones.”
