I "As regards the objectionable statement. viz. 'Jainism is not a separate religion or faith but only a sect-1 regret, i: should have crept though unintentionally and inadvertently in my letter. It was wholly due to a confusion of two words-religion and community. The term Hindu religion is a misnomer. Hindu' is a name of the community comprising all persons professing religions to the Indian Origin-Vedic Buddhism, Jainism, Sikbism etc. what I intended to show was that the Jain community was not different from the great Hindu community though they may be following diffe rent lines of philosophy and thought. Instead oi community, the word 'religion' crept in due to the interchanging and loose use of the terms in vernacular language
હું માનું છું કે ટુંકી દ્રષ્ટિવાળા સૌ કેઇને ઉપરનું સંતોષ આપો. પણ આપણે એટલાથીજ-ફક્ત વાકયથીજ (Statements)–રાજી નહિ થઈએ. જૈનધર્મ અન્ય કોઈપણ ચાલુ તત્ત્વજ્ઞાનની શાખા તેથી અને નજ હોઈ શકે તે માટે ખાસ સાબીતીઓ જોઈશું.
૧. હિન્દુ જાતિમાં ઘટતા જન અને બૌદ્ધ સિવાય લગભગ સર્વ કે વેદને ધર્મ પુસ્તક તરીકે માને છે. (જે સુગમતાની ખાતર હિન્દુધર્મ એ શબ્દ પ્રયોગ ચાલુજ રાખવું હોય તે હેને અર્થ હિંદુ જાતિઓને ધર્મ એમ નહિ થઇ શકે અને જો એમ પણ કરવું હોય તો સુખેથી અને ખુશીથી જૈનેને અને જનધર્મને હેમાંથી અલગ રાખીને જ કરવું. નકામે જૈનધર્મને ન સંડોવે. અને આમ અત્યાર સુધી સંડવ્યાથીજ “જનધર્મ” એ હિન્દુ ધર્મ' ની શાખા જ છે, એમ સાધારણ જનતાના અજ્ઞાન
