है । यह जान लिया गया है कि कोपरनिकस के मत में टोलेमी के मत के सम्बन्ध में निर्णय करना अब निरर्थक है । और वास्तव में दोनों के सिद्धान्तों की विशेषता अब महत्व नहीं रखती है | चाहे हम यह कहें कि पृथ्वी घूमती है और सूर्य स्थिर है या पृथ्वी स्थिर है और सूर्य घूमता है, दानों ही अबस्था में हम ऐसो बात करते हैं जिसका कोई अर्थ नहीं । कोपरनिकस की महान खोज आज केवल इतने ही वक्तव्य में समाने जितनी हो गई है कि कुछ एक प्रंसगों में यह अधिक सुविधाजनक है कि नक्षत्र की गति का सम्बन्ध सूर्य के साथ जोड़ वनस्पत इसके कि उसे पृथ्वी के साथ जोड़ा जाय ।"
