If ever in my life I have come across any wonder He is the Ascetic Shanti Surishwasji Maharaj. Outwardly He appears to be a man of ordinary calibre and even when He speaks it becomes evident that an ordinary man is speaking. His look is also so simple that people easily mistake about His greatness. But, I felt, He is a store-house of lofty spiritual ideas. We cannot easily understand this great personality as His. spiritual knowledge has reached such a depth in consequence of His Yogic practices that a certain learned scholar could not thoroughly realise His. greatness even after eighteen months' stay with Him. Of all the great saints of to-day He is assuredly the foremost ip respect of Yogic and spiritual matters. Should any powerful soul keep company with Him for a long time with a view to understanding this great King of Ascetics (Yogiraj) he might perhaps grasp a little of Him.
