आगम सूत्र ३९, छेदसूत्र-५, 'महानिशीथ'
अध्ययन/उद्देश/सूत्रांक करे, वेश खींच लेने के लिए हाजिर हो, किसी अशुभ उत्पात या बूरे निमित्त अपसगुन हो, वैसे को गीतार्थ आचार्य, गच्छाधिपति या दूसरे किसी नायक काफी निपुणता से निरूपण करके समजाए कि ऐसे ऐसे निमित्त जिसके लिए हो तो उसे प्रव्रज्या नहीं दे सकते । यदि शायद प्रव्रज्या दे तो बड़ा विपरीत आचरण करनेवाला-खिलाफ बनता है। सर्वथा निर्धर्म चारित्र को दूषित करता है । वो सभी तरह से एकान्त में अकार्य करने के लिए उद्यत माने जाए । उस तरह का वो चाहे जैसे भी श्रुत या विज्ञान का अभिमान करता है । कईं रूप बदलता है। सूत्र-८२७-८३०
हे भगवंत ! वो बहुरुप किसे कहते हैं ? जो शिथिल आचारवाला हो ऐसा ओसन्न या कठिन आचार पालनेवाला उद्यत विहारी बनकर वैसा नाटक करे । धर्म रहित या चारित्र में दूषण लगानेवाले हो ऐसा नाटक भूमि में तरह तरह के वेश धारण करे, उसकी तरह चारण या नाटक हो, पल में राम, पल में लक्ष्मण, पल में दश मस्तकवाला रावण बने और फिर भयानक कान, आगे दाँत नीकल आए हो, बुढ़ापे युक्त गात्रवाला, निस्तेज फिके नेत्रवाला, काफी प्रपंच भरा विदूषक हो वैसे वेश बदलनेवाला, पलभर में तिर्यंच जाति के बंदर, हनुमान या केसरी सिंह बने । ऐसे बहुरुपी, विदूषक करे वैसे बहुरुप करनेवाला हो । इस तरह हे गौतम ! शायद स्खलना से किसी असति को दीक्षा दी गई हो तो फिर उसे दूर-दूर के मार्ग के बीच आंतरा रखना । पास-पास साथ न चलना । उसके साथ सम्मान से बात-चीत न करना । पात्र मात्रक या उपकरण पडिलेहण न कराए उसे ग्रन्थ शास्त्र के उद्देश न करवाना, अनुज्ञा न देना, गुप्त रहस्य की मंत्रणा न करना।
हे गौतम ! बताए गए दोष रहित हो उसे प्रव्रज्या देना । और फिर हे गौतम ! म्लेच्छ देश में पैदा होनेवाले अनार्य को दीक्षा न देना । उस प्रकार वेश्यापुत्र को दीक्षा न देना और फिर गणिका को दीक्षा न देना ओर नेत्र रहित को, हाथ-पाँव कटे हुए हो, खंड़ित हो उसे और छेदित कान नासिकावाले हो, कोढ़ रोगवाले को, शरीर से परु नीकल रहा हो, शरीर सड़ा हुआ हो । पाँव से लूला हो, चल न सकता हो, गूंगा, बहरा, अति उत्कट कषायवाले को
और कईं पाखंडी का संसर्ग करनेवाले को, उस प्रकार सज्जड़ राग-द्वेष मोह मिथ्यात्व के मल से लिप्त, पुत्र का त्याग करनेवाला, पुराने-खोखले गुरु और जिनालय कईं देव देवी के स्थानक की आवक को भुगतनेवाले, कुम्हार हो और नट, नाटकीय, मल्ल, चारण, श्रुत पढ़ने में जड़, पाँव और हाथ काम न करते हो, स्थूल शरीरवाला हो उसे प्रव्रज्या न देनी।
उस तरह के नाम रहित, बलहीन, जातिहीन, निंदीत कुलहीन, बुद्धिहीन, प्रज्ञाहीन, अन्य प्रकार के अधम जातिवाले, जिसके कुल और स्वभाव पहचाने हो ऐसे को प्रव्रज्या न देना । यह पद या इसके अलावा दूसरे पद में स्खलना हो । जल्दबाझी हो तो देश के पूर्व क्रोड़ साल के तप से उस दोष की शुद्धि हो या न भी हो । सूत्र- ८३१-८३२
जिस प्रकार शास्त्र में किया है उस प्रकार गच्छ की व्यवस्था का यथार्थ पालन करके कर्मरूप रज के मैल और क्लेश से मुक्त हुए अनन्त आत्मा ने मुक्ति पद पाया है । देव, असुर और जगत के मानव से नमन किए हुए, इस भुवन में जिनका अपूर्व प्रकट यश गाया गया है, केवली तीर्थंकर भगवंत ने बताए अनुसार गण में रहे, आत्म पराक्रम करनेवाले, गच्छाधिपति काफी मोक्ष पाते हैं और पाएंगे।

हे भगवंत ! जो कोई न जाने हुए शास्त्र के सद्भाववाले हो, वह विधि से या अविधि से किसी गच्छ के आचार या मंडली धर्म के मूल या छत्तीस तरह के भेदवाले ज्ञान, दर्शन, चारित्र, तप और वीर्य के आचार को मन से वचन से या काया से किसी भी तरह कोई भी आचार स्थान में किसी गच्छाधिपति या आचार्य के जितने अंतःकरण में विशुद्ध परिणाम होने के बाद भी बार-बार चूक जाए । स्खलना पाए या प्ररूपणा करे या व्यवहार करे तो वो

Do not give initiation to a son of a prostitute, and then do not give initiation to a Ganika, and to one who is blind, one who has lost his hands and feet, one who is mutilated, one who has pierced ears and nose, one who has leprosy, one who has pus oozing from his body, one who has a rotten body, one who is lame in his feet, one who cannot walk, one who is dumb, one who is deaf, one who has intense Kashaya,

And to one who associates with many hypocrites, one who is attached to strong raga-dvesha, moha, mithyatva, one who abandons his son, one who has suffered the consequences of old and hollow gurus and Jinālaya, many Dev-Devi's Sthanak, one who is a potter, and a Nat, a dramatic artist, a wrestler, a Charan, one who is dull in reading Shruta, one whose feet and hands do not work, one who has a large body, do not give him Pravrajyā.

Do not give Pravrajyā to one who is nameless, weak, casteless, condemned, of a low family, foolish, ignorant, of other types of low caste, whose family and nature are known.
