आगम सूत्र ३९, छेदसूत्र-५, 'महानिशीथ'
अध्ययन/उद्देश/सूत्रांक अनन्ता काल से वर्तते भव की पापवाली भावना के योग से बाँधे हुए पापकर्म का छेदन करके अद्वितीय तीर्थंकर नामकर्म जिन्होंने बाँधा है । अति मनोहर, देदीप्यमान, दश दिशा में प्रकाशित, निरुपम ऐसे एक हजार
और आठ लक्षण-से शोभायमान होता है । जगत में जो उत्तम शोभा के निवास का जैसे वासगृह हो वैसी अपूर्व शोभावाले, उनके दर्शन होते ही उनकी शोभा देखकर देव और मानव अंतःकरण में आश्चर्य का अहसास करते हैं, एवं नेत्र और मन में महान विस्मय और प्रमोद महसूस करते हैं । वो तीर्थंकर भगवंत समग्र पापकर्म समान मैल के कलंक से मुक्त होते हैं । उत्तम समचतुरस्र संस्थान और श्रेष्ठ वजऋषभनाराच संघयण से युक्त परम पवित्र और उत्तम शरीर को धारण करनेवाले होते हैं।
इस तरह के तीर्थंकर भगवंत महायशस्वी, महासत्त्वशाली, महाप्रभावी, परमेष्ठी हो वो ही धर्मतीर्थ को प्रवर्तनेवाले होते हैं। और फिर कहा है किसूत्र-५०४-५०८
समग्र मानव, देव, इन्द्र और देवांगना के रूप, कान्ति, लावण्य वो सब इकटे करके उसका ढ़ग शायद एक और किया जाए और उसकी दूसरी ओर जिनेश्वर के चरण के अंगूठे के अग्र हिस्से का करोड़ या लाख हिस्से की उसके साथ तुलना की जाए तो वो देव-देवी के रूप का पिंड़ सुवर्ण के मेरू पर्वत के पास रखे गए ढ़ग की तरह शोभारहित दिखता है । या इस जगत के सारे पुरुष के सभी गुण इकट्ठे किए जाए तो उस तीर्थंकर के गुण का अनन्तवां हिस्सा भी नहीं आता । समग्र तीन जगत इकट्ठे होकर एक ओर एक दिशा में तीन भुवन हो और दूसरी दिशा में तीर्थंकर भगवंत अकेले ही हो तो भी वो गुण में अधिक होते हैं इसलिए वो परम पुजनीय हैं । वंदनीय, पूजनीय, अर्हत हैं । बुद्धि और मतिवाले हैं, इसलिए उसी तीर्थंकर को भाव से नमस्कार करो । सूत्र - ५०९-५१२
लोक में भी गाँव, पुर, नगर, विषय, देश या समग्र भारत का जो जितने देश का स्वामी होता है, उस की आज्ञा को उस प्रदेश के लोग मान्य रखते हैं । लेकिन ग्रामाधिपति अच्छी तरह से अति प्रसन्न हुआ हो तो एक गाँव में से कितना दे ? जिस के पास जितना हो उसमें से कुछ दे । चक्रवर्ती थोड़ा भी दे तो भी उसके कुल परम्परा से आते (समग्र बंधु वर्ग का) दारिद्र नष्ट होता है | और फिर वो मंत्रीपन की, मंत्री चक्रवर्तीपन की, चक्रवर्ती सुरपतिपन की अभिलाषा करता है । देवेन्द्र, जगत के यथेच्छित सुखकुल को देनेवाले तीर्थंकरपन की अभिलाषा करते हैं। सूत्र-५१३-५१४
एकान्त लक्ष रखकर अति अनुराग पूर्वक इन्द्र भी जिस तीर्थंकर पद की ईच्छा रखते हैं, ऐसे तीर्थंकर भगवंत सर्वोत्तम है । उसमें कोई सन्देह नहीं । इसलिए समग्र देव, दानव, ग्रह, नक्षत्र, सूर्य और चन्द्र आदि को भी तीर्थंकर पूज्य हैं । और वाकई में वो पाप नष्ट करनेवाले हैं। सूत्र - ५१५-५१६
तीन लोक में पूजनीय और जगत के गुरु ऐसे धर्मतीर्थंकर की द्रव्यपूजा और भावपूजा ऐसे दो तरह की पूजा बताई है । चारित्रानुष्ठान और कष्टवाले उग्र घोर तप का आसेवन करना वो भावपूजा और देशविरति श्रावक जो पूजा-सत्कार और दान-शीलादि धर्म सेवन करे वो द्रव्यपूजा । हे गौतम ! यहाँ इसका तात्पर्य इस प्रकार समझो सूत्र - ५१७
भाव-अर्चन प्रमाद से उत्कृष्ट चारित्र पालन समान है । जब कि द्रव्य अर्चन जिनपूजा समान है। मुनि के लिए भाव अर्चन है और श्रावक के लिए दोनों अर्चन बताए हैं । उसमें भाव अर्चन प्रशंसनीय है। सूत्र - ५१८

He possesses the most sacred and supreme body, adorned with the perfect square institution and the best Vajrishbhanaraach Sanghayan.

Such Tirthankara Bhagvant, who is the most glorious, powerful, influential, and supreme, is the one who establishes the Dharma Tirth. And then it is said in Sutra-504-508:

If all the humans, gods, Indra, and goddesses are gathered together, and their form, radiance, and beauty are compared to the tip of the toe of the Jinendra's foot, even a crore or lakh part of it, then the form of those gods and goddesses will appear dull like a piece of gold placed near the Meru mountain. Or if all the virtues of all the men in this world are gathered together, they will not even reach a fraction of the virtues of that Tirthankara. If the entire three worlds are gathered together on one side, and the Tirthankara Bhagvant is alone on the other side, even then he is superior in virtues. Therefore, he is the most worthy of worship, praiseworthy, and venerable. He is wise and intelligent, therefore, bow down to that Tirthankara with devotion. Sutra-509-512

In the world, the people of a village, town, city, province, country, or even the whole of India, obey the commands of their respective rulers. But if the village headman is very happy, how much will he give from a village? Give whatever you have. Even a small donation from a Chakravarti will destroy the poverty of his entire lineage (all the relatives). And then he desires the position of a minister, the minister desires the position of a Chakravarti, and the Chakravarti desires the position of a king. The Devendra desires the position of a Tirthankara, who gives the desired happiness to the world. Sutra-513-514
