आगम सूत्र ३९, छेदसूत्र-५, 'महानिशीथ'
अध्ययन/उद्देश/सूत्रांक कुमार मुनि अति प्रशान्त वदन से प्रशान्त मधुर अक्षर से धर्मदेशना करने पूर्वक राजकुल बालिका नरेन्द्र श्रमणी को कहा कि - हे दुष्करकारिके ! ऐसी माया के वचन बोलकर काफी घोर, वीर, उग्र, कष्टदायक, दुष्कर तप, संयम, स्वाध्याय ध्यान आदि करके जो संसार न बढ़े ऐसा बड़ा पुण्यप्रकर्ष इकट्ठा किया है । उसको निष्फल मत करना । अनन्त संसार देनेवाले ऐसे माया-दंभ करने का कोई प्रयोजन नहीं है । बेजिजक आलोचना करके तुम्हारी आत्मा को शल्यरहित बना या जैसे अंधेरे में नदी का नृत्य निरर्थक होता है, धमेल सुवर्ण एक जोरवाली फूंक में उसकी मेहनत निरर्थक जाती है, उस अनुसार आज तक राजगादी स्वजनादिक का त्याग करके केश का लोच किया । भिक्षा, भ्रमण, भूमि पर शय्या करना, बाईस परिषह सहना, उपसर्ग सहना आदि जो क्लेश सहे वो सब किए गए चारित्र अनुष्ठान तुम्हारे निरर्थक होंगे? तब निर्भागी ने उत्तर दिया कि
हे भगवंत ! क्या आप ऐसा मानते हो कि आपके साथ छल से बात कर रहा हूँ। और फिर खास करके आलोचना देते समय आपके साथ छल कर ही नहीं सकते । यह मेरी कहानी बेजिजक सच मानो । किसी तरह उस समय मैंने सहज भी स्नेहराग की अभिलाषा से या राग करने की अभिलाषा से आपकी ओर नजर नहीं की थी, लेकिन आपका इम्तिहान लेने के लिए, तुम कितने पानी में हो - शील में कितने दृढ़ हो, उसका इम्तिहान करने के लिए नजर की थी । ऐसे बोलती कर्मपरिणति को आधीन होनेवाली बद्ध-स्पृष्ट निकाचित ऐसे उत्कृष्ट हालातवाला स्त्री नामकर्म उपार्जन करके नष्ट हुई, हे गौतम ! छल करने के स्वभाव से वो राजकुल बालिका नरेन्द्र श्रमणीने लम्बे अरसे का निकाचित स्त्रीवेद उपार्जन किया।
उस के बाद शिष्यगण परिवार सहित महा ताज्जुब समान स्वयंबुद्धकुमार महर्षिने विधिवत् आत्मा कीसंलेखना करके एक मास का पादपोपगमन अनशन करके सम्मेत पर्वत के शिखर पर केवलीपन से शिष्यगण के साथ निर्वाण पाकर मोक्ष पधारे । सूत्र-१५१२
हे गौतम ! वो राजकुलबालिका नरेन्द्र श्रमणी उस माया शल्य के भावदोष से विद्युत्कुमार देवलोक में सेवक देव में स्त्री नेवले के रूप में उत्पन्न हुई । वहाँ से च्यवकर फिर उत्पन्न होती और मर जाती मानव और तिर्यंच गति में समग्र दौर्भाग्य दुःख दारिद्र पानेवाली समग्र लोक से पराभव-अपमान, नफरत पाते हुए अपने कर्म के फल को महसूस करते हुए हे गौतम ! यावत् किसी तरह से कर्म का क्षयोपशम श्रमणपन से यथार्थ परिपालन करके सर्व स्थान में सारे प्रमाद के आलम्बन से मुक्त होकर संयम क्रिया में उद्यम करके उस भव में माया से किए काफी कर्म जलाकर भस्म करके अब केवल अंकुर समान भव बाकी रखा है, तो भी हे गौतम ! ज्यों-त्यों समय में रागवाली दृष्टि की आलोचना नहीं की उस कर्म के दोष से ब्राह्मण की स्त्री के रूप में उत्पन्न हुई । वो राजकुल बालिका नरेन्द्र श्रमणी (समान साध्वी) के जीव का निर्वाण हुआ। सूत्र - १५१३
हे भगवंत ! जो किसी श्रमणपन का उद्यम करे वो एक आदि सात-आँठ भव में यकीनन सिद्धि पाए तो फिर इस श्रमणी को क्यों कम या अधिक नहीं ऐसे लाख भव तक संसार में भ्रमण करना पड़ा? हे गौतम ! जो किसी निरतिचार श्रमणपन निर्वाह करे वो यकीनन एक से लेकर आँठ भव तक सिद्धि पाता है। जो किसी सूक्ष्म या बादर जो किसी माया शल्यवाले हो, अप्काय का भोगवटा करे, तेऊकाय का अतिचार लगाए वो लाख भव करके भटककर फिर सिद्धि पाने की उचितता प्राप्त करेगा । क्योंकि श्रमणपन पाकर फिर यदि उसमें अतिचार लगाए तो बोधिपन दुःख से पाए । हे गौतम ! यह उस ब्राह्मणी के जीवने इतनी अल्प माया की थी उससे ऐसे दारुण विपाक भुगतने पड़े। सूत्र-१५१४

O Gautam! That Rajakul Balika Narendrasramani, due to the fault of Maya-shalya, was born in the Devlok as a female mongoose in the service of the Dev. From there, she was born again and again, dying in the human and animal realms, experiencing all kinds of misfortune, sorrow, and poverty, and being defeated, humiliated, and hated by all the lokas, experiencing the fruits of her karma. O Gautam! Until she somehow destroyed her karma through the true observance of Shramanapan, became free from all the supports of pramada in all places, and became engaged in the practice of samayam, she burned and destroyed the karma she had done with Maya in that bhava, leaving only a sprout-like bhava. Even then, O Gautam! Due to the fault of that karma, she was born as the wife of a Brahmin, because she did not criticize the raga-filled vision at that time. The Nirvana of the Jiva of that Rajakul Balika Narendrasramani (Samaan Sadhvi) happened. Sutra-1513

O Bhagvant! Whoever undertakes the practice of Shramanapan, will surely attain Siddhi in the first seven or eight bhavas. Then why did this Shramani have to wander in the world for lakhs of bhavas, neither less nor more? O Gautam! Whoever practices Niratichar Shramanapan, will surely attain Siddhi in one to eight bhavas. Whoever is subtle or badar, whoever has Maya-shalya, who enjoys the bhogavata of Apkay, who practices the Atichar of Teukay, will wander for lakhs of bhavas and then attain the right to attain Siddhi. Because, if after attaining Shramanapan, one practices Atichar in it, then one attains Bodhi with sorrow. O Gautam! This Brahmani's Jiva had so little Maya, yet she had to suffer such terrible vipaka. Sutra-1514
