हे भगवंत ! जो गणी अप्रमादी होकर श्रुतानुसार यथोक्त विधानसह हमेशा रात-दिन गच्छ की देख-भाल न रखे तो उसे पारंचित प्रायश्चित्त बताए ? हे गौतम ! गच्छ की देख-भाल न करे तो उसे पारंचित प्रायश्चित्त कहना । हे भगवंत ! और फिर जो कोई गणी सारे प्रमाद के आलम्बन से विप्रमुक्त हो । श्रुतानुसार हमेशा गच्छ की सारणादिक पूर्वक सँभलकर रखते हो, उसका किसी दुष्टशीलवाले या उस तरह का शिष्य सन्मार्ग का यथार्थ आचरण न करता हो तो वैसे गणी को प्रायश्चित्त आता है क्या? हे गौतम ! जरुर वैसे गुरु को प्रायश्चित्त प्राप्त होता है । हे भगवंत ! किस वजह से ? हे गौतम ! उसने शिष्य को गुणदोष से कसौटी लिए बिना प्रव्रज्या दी है उस वजह से, हे भगवंत ! क्या वैसे गणी को भी प्रायश्चित्त दे सकते हैं ? हे गौतम ! इस तरह के गुण से युक्त गणी हो लेकिन जब इस तरह के पापशीलवाले गच्छ को त्रिविध-त्रिविध से वोसिराके जो आत्महित की साधना नहीं करते, तब उन्हें संघ के बाहर नीकालना चाहिए । हे भगवंत ! जब गच्छ के नायक गणी गच्छ को त्रिविधे वोसिरावे तब उस गच्छ को आदरमान्य कर सकते हैं क्या ? यदि पश्चात्ताप करके संवेग पाकर यथोक्त प्रायश्चित्त का सेवन करके दूसरे गच्छाधिपति के वास उपसंपदा पाकर सम्यगमार्ग का अनुसरण करे तो उसका सम्मान करना अब यदि वो स्वच्छंदता से उसी तरह बना रहे-पश्चात्ताप प्रायश्चित्त न करे, संवेग न पाए तो चतुर्विध श्रमणसंघ के बाहर किए उस गच्छ का आदर मत करना, मत समझना । सूत्र-१३९०
हे भगवंत ! जब शिष्य यथोक्त संयमक्रिया में व्यवहार करता हो तब कुछ कुगुरु उस अच्छे शिष्य के पास उनकी दीक्षा प्ररूपे तब शिष्य का कौन-सा कर्तव्य उचित माना जाता है ? हे गौतम ! घोर वीर तप का संयम करना। हे भगवंत ! किस तरह ? हे गौतम ! अन्य गच्छ में प्रवेश करके । हे भगवंत ! उसके सम्बन्धी स्वामीत्व की फारगति दिए बिना दूसरे गच्छ में प्रवेश नहीं पा सकते । तब क्या करे ? हे गौतम ! सर्व तरह से उसके सम्बन्धी स्वामीत्व मिट जाना चाहिए । हे भगवंत ! किस तरह से उसके सम्बन्धी स्वामीत्व सर्व तरह से साफ हो सकता है? हे गौतम ! अक्षर में हें भगवंत ! वो अक्षर कौन-से ? हे गौतम ! किसी भी कालान्तर में भी अब मैं उनके शिष्य या शिष्यणी से अपनाऊंगा नहीं । हे भगवंत ! यदि शायद उस तरह के अक्षर न दे तो ? हे गौतम ! यदि वो उस तरह के अक्षर न लिख दे तो पास के प्रवचनी को कहकर चार-पाँच इकट्ठे होकर उन पर जबरदस्ती करके अक्षर दिलाना। हे भगवंत ! यदि उस तरह के जबरदस्ती से भी वो कुगुरु अक्षर न दे तो फिर क्या करे? हे गौतम ! यदि उस तरह से कुगुरु अक्षर न दे तो उसे संघ बाहर करने का उपदेश देना । हे भगवंत ! किस वजह से ऐसा कहे ?
हे गौतम ! इस संसार में महापाशरूप घर और परिवार की शूली गरदन पर लगी है | वैसी शूली को मुश्किल से तोड़कर कईं शारीरिक-मानसिक पैदा हुए वार गतिरूप संसार के दुःख से भयभीत किसी तरह से मोह
और मिथ्यात्वादिका क्षयोपशम के प्रभाव से सन्मार्ग की प्राप्ति करके कामभोग से ऊंबकर वैराग पाकर यदि उसकी परम्परा आगे न बढ़े ऐसे निरनुबँधी पुण्य का उपार्जन करते हैं । वो पुण्योपार्जन तप और संयम के अनुष्ठान से होता है। उसके तप और संयम की क्रिया में यदि गुरु खुद ही विघ्न करनेवाला बने या दूसरों के पास विघ्न, अंतराय करवाए । अगर विघ्न करनेवाले को अच्छा मानकर उसकी अनुमोदना करे, स्वपक्ष या परपक्ष से विघ्न होता हो उसकी उपेक्षा करे यानि उसको अपने सामर्थ्य से न रोके, तो वो महानुभाग वैसे साधु का विद्यमान ऐसा धर्मवीर्य भी नष्ट हो जाए, जितने में धर्मवीर्य नष्ट हो उतने में पास में जिसका पुण्य आगे आनेवाला था, वो नष्ट होता है। यदि वो श्रमणलिंग का त्याग करता है, तब उस तरह के गुण से युक्त हो उस गच्छ का त्याग करके अन्य गच्छ में जाते हैं । तब भी यदि वो प्रवेश न पा सके तो शायद वो अविधि से प्राण का त्याग करे, शायद वो मिथ्यात्व भाव पाकर दूसरे कपटी में सामिल हो जाए, शायद स्त्री का संग्रह करके गृहस्थावास में प्रवेश करे, ऐसा एका महातपस्वी था अब वो अतपस्वी होकर पराये के घर में काम करनेवाला दास बने जब तक में ऐसी हलकी व्यवस्था न हो, उतने में तो एकान्त मिथ्यात्व अंधकार बढ़ने लगे । जितने में मिथ्यात्व से वैसे बने काफी लोगों का समुदाय

O Gautam! Certainly, such a Guru receives Prāyaśchitta. O Bhagvant! For what reason? O Gautam! Because he has given Pravrajya to the disciple without testing him with virtues and vices. O Bhagvant! Can such a Gani also be given Prāyaśchitta? O Gautam! Such a Gani with such qualities, but when such sinful Gachch, who are not practicing self-benefit, are not purified by the three-fold purification, then they should be expelled from the Sangha. O Bhagvant! When the Gani, the leader of the Gachch, purifies the Gachch with the three-fold purification, can that Gachch be respected? If, after repenting, gaining remorse, consuming the correct Prāyaśchitta, receiving Upasampada in the residence of another Gachchādhipati, and following the right path, he is to be respected. Now, if he remains free-willed in the same way, does not repent, does not gain remorse, then do not respect that Gachch, do not consider it, which is expelled from the four-fold Shraman Sangha. O Bhagvant! When the disciple behaves in the correct way of restraint, then some bad Guru, in the form of their initiation, approaches that good disciple, then what is considered the proper duty of the disciple? O Gautam! To practice severe heroic austerity. O Bhagvant! In what way? O Gautam! By entering another Gachch. O Bhagvant! He cannot enter another Gachch without giving up his relationship with his master. Then what should he do? O Gautam! His relationship with his master should be completely erased. O Bhagvant! How can his relationship with his master be completely erased? O Gautam! By writing a letter. O Bhagvant! What are those letters? O Gautam! "I will not accept myself as their disciple or disciple-woman at any time in the future." O Bhagvant! If he does not write such a letter? O Gautam! If he does not write such a letter, then tell the nearby Pravachni, and gather four or five together, and forcefully make him write the letter. O Bhagvant! If even by such force, that bad Guru does not write the letter, then what should he do? O Gautam! If that bad Guru does not write the letter in that way, then advise him to expel him from the Sangha. O Bhagvant! Why should he say this?

O Gautam! In this world, the stake of the house and family, in the form of a great noose, is stuck on the neck. With great difficulty, breaking that stake, born from many physical and mental pains, terrified by the pain of the world in the form of the speed of the arrow, somehow, by the effect of the destruction of attachment and false belief, etc., attaining the right path, rising above the enjoyment of desires, gaining detachment, if his tradition does not continue, he earns such unattached merit. That merit is earned through the practice of austerity and restraint. If the Guru himself becomes an obstacle in the practice of his austerity and restraint, or causes obstacles and hindrances for others, if he considers the obstacle-maker to be good and approves of him, if he ignores the obstacle, whether from his own side or from the other side, that is, if he does not stop him with his own power, then the existing Dharmavirya of such a virtuous Sadhu is destroyed. As much as the Dharmavirya is destroyed, so much is the merit of the one who was going to come forward destroyed. If he abandons the Shramanlinga, then, being of such qualities, he abandons that Gachch and goes to another Gachch. Even then, if he cannot enter, then perhaps he will abandon his life unlawfully, perhaps he will attain false belief and join other deceivers, perhaps he will enter the household life by collecting women, such a great ascetic was now an un-ascetic, becoming a servant working in another's house. Until such a light arrangement is made, the darkness of solitary false belief will increase. As much as false belief increases, so much will the community of such people increase.
