अध्ययन/उद्देश/सूत्रांक सूत्र - ११०५-११०७
उतने में जिनेश्वर के पास जान के लिए नीकला । लेकिन जिनेश्वर को न देखा । इसलिए गणधर भगवंत के पास जाने के लिए प्रयाण किया । जिनेश्वर भगवंत ने बताए हुए सूत्र और मतलब की प्ररूपणा गणधर महाराजा करते हैं । जब यहाँ गणधर महाराजा व्याख्यान करते थे तब उसमें यह आलापक आया कि, 'एक ही पृथ्वीकाय जीव सर्वत्र उपद्रव पाते हैं। वो उसकी रक्षा करने के लिए कौन समर्थ हो सकता है ? सूत्र - ११०८-११११
इस विषय में इस महायशवाले अपने आत्मा की लघता करते हैं । इस समग्र लोक में यह बात सिद्ध करने के उचित नहीं है । ऐसी बात यह क्यों प्ररूपते होंगे ? यह उनका व्याख्यान प्रकटपन से काफी कान में कड़कड़ करनेवाला है। निष्कारण गले को शोषित करता है । उसके अलावा कोई फायदा नहीं है । ऐसा व्यवहार कौन कर सकेगा? इसलिए यह उपदेश छोड़कर सामान्य या किसी मध्यम तरह के धर्म का उपदेश करना चाहिए। जिससे हमारे पास आनेवाले लोग ऊब न जाए। सूत्र - १११२-१११६
या तो सचमुच मैं मूंढ पापकर्म नराधम हूँ, भले मैं वैसा नहीं करता लेकिन दूसरे लोग तो वैसा व्यवहार करते हैं । और फिर अनन्त ज्ञानी सर्वज्ञ भगवंत ने यह हकीकत प्ररूपी है । जो कोई उनके वचन के खिलाफ बात करे तो उसका अर्थ टिक नहीं सकता । इसलिए अब मैं इसका घोर अति दुष्कर उत्तम तरह का प्रायश्चित्त जल्द अति शीघ्रतर समय में करूँगा कि जितने में मेरी मौत न हो । आशातना करने से मैं ऐसा पाप किया है कि देवताई सौ साल का ईकट्ठा किया हुआ पुण्य भी उससे नष्ट होता है। अब वो प्रायश्चित्त करने के लिए तैयार हुआ है। और अपनी मति कल्पना से उस तरह का महा घोर प्रायश्चित्त करके प्रत्येक बुद्ध के पास फिर से गया। सूत्र-१११७-११२३
वहाँ भी सूत्र की व्याख्या श्रवण करते करते वो ही अधिकार फिर आया कि, 'पृथ्वी आदि का समारम्भ साधु त्रिविध त्रिविध से वर्जन करे', काफी मूढ ऐसा वो इश्वर साधु मूर्ख बनकर चिन्तवन करने लगा कि इस जगत में कौन उस पृथ्वीकायादिक का समारम्भ नहीं करता? खुद ही तो पृथ्वीकाय पर बैठे हैं, अग्नि से पकाया हुआ आहार खाते हैं और वो सब बीज-धान्य में से पैदा होता है । दूसरा पानी बिना एक पल भी कैसे जी सकेंगे? तो वाकई यह प्रत्यक्ष ही उलटी हकीकत दिखाई देती है । मैं उनके पास आया लेकिन इस बात में कोई भरोसा नहीं करेंगे । तो वो भले यहाँ रहे, इससे तो यह गणधर भगवंत काफी उत्तम है । या तो यहाँ वो कोइ भी मेरा कहा नहीं करेंगे । इस तरह का धर्म किस वजह से कहते होंगे । यदि अति कड़वा-कठिन धर्म होगा तो फिर अब मत सुनना | सूत्र - ११२४-११३८
या उनको एक ओर रख दो । मैं खुद ही सुख से हो सके और सब लोग कर सके ऐसा धर्म बताऊंगा । यह जो कड़कड़-कठिन धर्म करने का समय नहीं है । ऐसा जितने में चिन्तवन करते हैं उतने में तो उन धड़धड़ आवाज करनेवाली बिजली गिर पड़ी । हे गौतम ! वो वहाँ मरकर सातवीं नरक पृथ्वी में पैदा हुआ।
शासन श्रमणपन श्रुतज्ञान के संसर्ग के प्रत्यनीकपन की वजह से इश्वर लम्बे अरसे तक नरक में दुःख महसूस करके यहाँ आकर सागर में महामत्स्य होकर फिर से सातवीं नारकी में तेंतीस सागरोपम के लम्बे अरसे तक दुःख सहकर वैसे भयानक दुःख भुगतकर यहाँ आया इश्वर का जीव तिर्यंच ऐसे पंछी में कौए के रूप में पैदा हुआ । वहाँ से फिर पहली नारकी में जाकर आयु पूर्ण करके यहाँ दुष्ट श्वान के रूप में पैदा होकर फिर से पहली नारकी में गया । वहाँ से नीकलकर शेर के रूप में फिर से मरके चौथी में जाकर यहाँ आया । यहाँ से भी नरक में जाकर उस इश्वर का जीव कुम्हार के रूप में पैदा हुआ । वहाँ कुष्ठी होकर काफी दुःखी, कृमि ने खाया हुआ पचास साल तक पराधीन-पन से वैसा पारावार दुःख सहकर अकाम निर्जरा की, वहाँ से देवभव में पैदा होकर वहाँ से

By desiring, I have committed such a sin that even the accumulated punya of a hundred years of the devas is destroyed by it. Now he is ready to do prāyaścitta.
