SECTION-1 Reality of Knowledge (jñānatattva)
संपज्जदि णिव्वाणं देवासुरमणुयरायविहवेहिं । जीवस्स चरित्तादो दंसणणाणप्पहाणादो 1-6॥
संपद्यते निर्वाणं देवासुरमनुजराजविभवैः ।
जीवस्य चरित्राद्दर्शनज्ञानप्रधानात् ॥1-6॥ सामान्यार्थ - [ जीवस्य चरित्रात् निर्वाणं संपद्यते ] जीव को चारित्रगुण के आचरण से मोक्ष प्राप्त होता है। कैसे चारित्र से? [दर्शनज्ञानप्रधानात्] सम्यग्दर्शन-ज्ञान हैं मुख्य जिसमें। किन विभूतियों सहित मोक्ष पाता है? [ देवासुरमनुजराजविभवैः] स्वर्गवासी देव, पातालवासी देव तथा मनुष्यों के स्वामियों की संपदा सहित।
The soul attains liberation (nirvāṇa, mokşa) by virtue of conduct (cāritra), characterized by right faith (samyagdarsana) and right knowledge (samyagjñāna). The path to liberation is accompanied by the glory of the lords of the heavenly devas (kalpavāsī devas), other devas (bhavanavāsī, vyantara and jyotisha devas),and humans.
Explanatory Note: Conduct is of two kinds: 1) conduct-withoutattachment (vitarāga cāritra), and 2) conduct-with-attachment (sarāga cāritra). Conduct-without-attachment (vitarāga cāritra) leads to liberation, and conduct-with-attachment (sarāga cāritra) leads to attainment of glories of the lords of the celestial beings and the humans. Tinged with passions (kaşāya), conduct-withattachment (sarāga caritra) causes bondage of karmas and, therefore, needs to be discarded.
